2019 Spirit U Registration Is Open

| |

Online registration is now open for Spirit U, Spirit of Atlanta’s summer camp for high school-aged performers. Now in its third year on the campus of the University of West Georgia, the 3-day camp provides a perfect opportunity for up and coming students to experience what drum and bugle corps-style training is like. Classes focus on marching techniques and physical fitness, sectional work for brass, woodwinds, percussion, color guard and drum majors, as well as leadership and other important topics. The Spirit U programs are led by Gary Gribble, who works each year to ensure that the curriculum is timely and relevant, and the experience of the campers is first-rate. A new addition this season will be a session on preparing for drum corps auditions, teaching the students what a DCI staff looks for and how to handle the stresses of the audition process. Gribble is proud to point out that in the first two seasons, at least 6 students who attended Spirit U later successfully auditioned and become contracted members of Spirit of Atlanta.
