Two Parades Will Not Go A Cappella

Strike up the bands. Cheviot and Loveland have finally found musicians to play patriotic tunes at their Memorial Day parades.

Both communities’ events had been bandless because of transportation costs and musician shortages.

Cincinnati Tradition Sr. Drum & Bugle Corps will help kick off Cheviot’s 11 a.m. May 29 parade sponsored by the Western Hills Veterans Council.

"We’re doing it for free," said Tom Slade, founder and director of the 25-member corps.
