Las Vegas Marching Arts Completes Executive Board Of Directors
Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc. a Nevada Corporation has completed filling out it’s Executive Board said Randy N. Warner, President
Randy N. Warner of Dolan Springs Arizona is founder and president of LVMA,Inc.. He is an award winning author of research articles regarding efficacies and methodology of humane education in our schools. He is also the author 8 books on humane education that he has donated to over 2,700 schools in 14 countries.
He has performed for two presidents, been featured in People Magazine, David Letterman Show and the subject of a short documentary by George Lucas film company. Over 300 feature articles on his efforts here.
"At some point in time, we must all make the decision to stop exhausting our energies and resources that place their focus on only cleaning up yesterday’s problems involving today’s youth. Through bypassing the long arm of the law and judicial actions we can decide to implement solutions that will ultimately provide the youth with activities of our choosing. Such Activities will offer guidance through integrity and hard work through the proven effectiveness of a youth music organization."
Remembering a man saying to me once that, in order to be happy in life, one should find a way to live your life by doing what you loved most at the age of ten. Here I am.
Joining Mr. Warner on the Executive Board as Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Directors is John Erbland. Mr. Erbland studied music at Southwestern College and marched with the Anaheim Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corps before joining the United States Army.
During his twenty year Army career, John served with the 82D Airborne Division Band, Fort Bragg, NC; the 2D Infantry Division Band, Camp Casey, South Korea; the 101ST Airborne Division (Air Assault) Band, Fort Campbell, KY; Pomona Station, Los Angeles U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion; and the 62D Army Band, Fort Bliss, TX. His duties included Trombonist, Trombone Section Leader, Low Brass Group Leader, Squad Leader, Assistant Platoon Sergeant, Armorer, Logistics Supervisor, U.S. Army Recruiter, Administrative Supervisor, and Risk Assessment Manager.
Since retirement, John has served as Junior Vice Commander of the Disabled American Veterans chapter 65 in DuBois, PA and is currently furthering his education to qualify for school superintendant in Bullhead City, AZ.
Accepting the position as interim Treasurer and Director of ‘Las Vegas Blvd’ brass and percussion corps is Mr. John Ferro of Las Vegas. John, a professional musician and sound designer has participated in many levels of drum corp. including marching with the world champion Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps in 2002 and 2003. His youth, and experience truly rounds out our board said Mr. Warner, it is difficult to find someone as experienced as John AND the youth to make sure we communicating across all generations necessary to make Las Vegas Marching Arts a success!
Member at Large: John Williams (Imperial Palace Auto Show)
John Williams has spent a lifetime in volunteerism in every community he has lived – as a Volunteer Fireman, Police Officer & EMT. An asset to every community he’s lived. Recently the Director of the Nevada Wheelchair Foundation, he combined efforts with Nevada’s then Gov. Kenny Guinn and Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign to ensure that anyone who needed a wheelchair but couldn’t afford one got one, and organized the delivery of over 2000 wheelchairs donated to the Katrina victims in Mississippi. He currently is President of the Las Vegas Breakfasters Lions Club.
Volunteer Directors
Ivy Unieski and her daughter Rebekah have found a new love in organized volunteerism through major participation in Lions Clubs events, fundraisers and activities. Both are currently avid in assisting any worthy non-profit as well as mentors in the Kids to Kids reading program, Blind Center of Southern Nevada.
For the Sergeant of Arms position,
Lucy Garza, a nationally certified school counselor from Washington State, loves working with people of all ages. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Washington State University and her Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from Eastern Washington University. She was a school counselor for seven years before moving to Nevada and is currently working as a private educator and personal assistant. Her career work includes working with public schools, colleges, county and state organizations, community centers, hospitals and mental health organizations. She has served as president, vice-president, and/or secretary on many boards and committees in the past ten years and has played an integral part in bringing awareness, leadership and change to many issues around her home state.

LVMA is proud to announce the partnership with the local LV based Lions Clubs to assist in preparation for our upcoming fundraising event in early summer to provide necessary resources to take ‘Southern Nevada Marching Honor Band consisting of 200 of the area’s finest musicians ages 15-21 to the Tournament of Roses parade. Roy Madison, area Lions Club President said, ‘We are pleased to provide this amazing opportunity through our partnership with LVMA & ongoing community service to the young people of Southern Nevada."
LVMA, Inc. is a registered non profit Nevada Corporation and a federally recognized 501c3 tax exempt organization that focuses on the enrichment of the current music programs in Las Vegas. Our goal is to bring society together by providing a safe, drug free environment for our young leaders of the future. The organization provides highly qualified educators who utilize the "Music Educators National Standards" to offer the utmost education for our children.
It takes the commitment of an entire community to assure that music is part of the core curriculum. Children engaged in music will be the innovation leaders of tomorrow, and there is no better way to build life-long participation in music than with a solid base of music education.
We could use volunteers, donations and almost everything imaginable for this endeavor. Let us know if you would like to offer time, money or much needed ‘in kind’ donations such as office products, office space, and of course, music instruments.
