2010 Music City Audition Camp #1 Report

| |

Music City Drum and Bugle Corps welcomed many new faces at the first audition camp held November 28-29 at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro. This first opportunity to audition was for percussion and color guard applicants only. There are still openings in all sections so anyone interested in auditioning for the corps may still do so. Please let us know of your interest in auditioning by submitting the interest form available HERE. Brass and percussion applicants should also plan to attend the next camp to be held December 19-20 at White House High School in White House, Tennessee (about 20 miles north of Nashville). Color guard prospects should also submit the interest form and may provide a video demonstrating their dance and equipment skills. The next opportunity for guard members to audition in person will be at the April 24-25 camp.

Percussion caption head Alan Rice and percussion arranger Hunter Stricklin welcomed several new percussion staff members at the camp. The drum line learned all new percussion warm up exercises for the 2010 season. Applicants were evaluated throughout the weekend in a group setting and by performing an individual audition for the staff.

Guard caption head Elizabeth Heath and her all veteran staff introduced the corps’ dance and equipment technique to the guard hopefuls. The guard also learned several dance combinations and equipment phrases which they performed at the "show and tell" on Sunday afternoon.

Music City would like to thank Siegel High School for the use of their amazing facilities. And many thanks to the parents and volunteers who prepared meals for all of us. It was a fantastic way to get things kicked off for another exciting season.
