2010 Music City March Camp Report

Music City held another productive camp March 13-14. Even though a sizable number of percussionists and horn line members were unable to attend the camp, great strides were made learning new music and improving marching technique. For most in attendance the highlight of the weekend was hearing the "pre-show" music of "Down to the River to Pray" performed for the first time. It was not difficult to imagine how this piece will grab the audience’s attention and set the scene well for Music City’s "River Sounds" production.

Another large audience of family and friends was on hand for the show-and-tell on Sunday afternoon. The quality and volume of the horn line’s sound once again far surpassed that of the previous camp. The front ensemble had a particularly productive weekend as many noted the confidence of their contribution during ensemble rehearsals.
