  1. Saw these drums in Dayton with Everitt H.S.. I thought they sounded great and the look was much cleaner.
  2. Wondering if there is any buzz out there on who is gonna be really good this year ? Has anyone heard anything ? Thanks, Can't wait for the season to start.
  3. I saw these bass drums at N.J. music educators conference in New Brunswick. These are cool. Wooden shell not like sting ray or north drum. Pretty light and the way they are made the smaller drum can play a lower pitch. A great product. Time to update bass drums. I talked to a guy who used them for his parade band and he said it was the first time in 12 years of teaching that he could really hear his bass drums during a parade. I love all these guys who rag on the look of these drums and say they don't look traditional. Probably the same guys who voted for electronics and vocals in drum corps. Gimme a break !
  4. Thanks Keith, A fellow drummer emailed me the information. The tune is "Drum Corps Days" by Brian Turner. He marched with a corps from NY southern tier, maybe Squires or Mark Twain Cadets. Tune is swingin' Tower of Power meets Take 6. Lots of good drum corps memories, and Keith I also Funk the dumb stuff and I also keep my monster on it's leash. Thanks again.
  5. Keith Hall , Where are you ? You seem to know everything about NY drum corps. A friend told me there was a song written about drum corps.(not sure of title) All he knows is that it was written by some guy from NY state and he thought his name was Ryan Turner. I see there is a Ryan Turner on the drum corps planet forums. Is this the same guy ? When I goggle it all I get is the drum corps reps site. Any information you might have would be helpful. I've got to hear a song about drum corps. Thanks
  6. Just thinking back to my youth.Played bass drum with PAL Cadets from Philly. Great shows at the Jersey Shore with competitions in Wildwood and Ocean City. I'm trying to remember who we competed with.Any help ? Those were great days
