So, Blue Knights... uh, yeah. I'm sorry to say this is the only show ive6seen this season, World or Open that I really don't care for. I liked it on video but live it just didn't do anything for me. Overall seems too easy. Other than some horn runs here and there not a lot of technical stuff. And visually it is VERY simple. There's a whole lot of not marching and not spinning normal guard equipment. And what's there is not very clean. I'm a little flummoxed. I really liked their trilogy of shows 2014-16 but I'm not responding to this at all. Sorry, BK. (sad face)

Crowd REALLY responded to Bluecoats. Horns turn and face front at the end of the slow number, which I think is new. Nice effect to switch from live to mics back to live. Ending is a bit different eith a double snake to the front. Super exciting run for Bloo!

Crown, huge huge brass sound, near perfect drill. Crowd really geared up for them but seemed not all that smoked. No one knew where the soloist was singing for half the first song. Unfortunately guard was a mess. At least six drops that I saw. It's very glaring against the perfection of the drill.
I guess I missed all the guard drops! Don't revoke my rifle card, please.

Crown was, of course, excellent. Drums appeared to be slaying it. Guard had a good show, horns were insane. I thought the vocalist sounded the best I've heard her. The mix seemed to downplay her in n12k1, which I liked a lot. Sort of a CROWN set at the end. Might morph later?

Music City has a terrific guard, they spent serious money and time on their guard uniforms and props. Silks are awesome!
Great closer flags. Very effective and clean as a whistle

Good job, Music City. They really sold the program, very tribal. Strong visual, corps march very well and guard is super clean. Very capable. Horns are good, a little shaky at times in the upper voices but nice full sound.

I'm not getting close to these children. Who knows what diseases they have?!?
I just got my meningitis vaccination so I'm pretty confident I can go amongst them without too much risk.

Band kids. Band kids everywhere. Don't feed them after midnight nor get them wet.
I think every band kid in Tennessee, most of Kentucky and parts of Alabama and Mississippi are here.

Hoping a kind person out there will periscope Crown tonight. Really wanting to know what they have up their sleeves.
I don't 'scope but I'll try to provide some commentary and maybe a photo or two.

I've parked here many times. If you do park here, use the entrance on 24th Ave South or Highland, and come from Blakemore, not West End. If you come down West End, you will hit the worst stadium traffic around the baseball stadium.
I'm parked in the garage. $15 Special Event Parking and when I got in there at about 5p there were plenty of open spaces, plus med staff on their way out.
Just finishing up dinner at Kay Bob's and getting ready to head over to the stadium.
No rain at this time. Keep fingers crossed.

Full review will have to wait till tomorrow. I leave for Nashville around 10:30, so it should be up in the morning. Overall a wonderful showing by all groups! To me all of these corps are on higher levels then last year, which is a great thing! I'll be doing quick little comments in Nashville as well.
Thanks to all of you who provided in-person commentary. Keep it up!

Done, and wishing Pioneer the best of luck for these last two weeks. Finish strong!

Parking is going to blow. The corps park across the road from the stadium on the southwest corner. There's parking there. Used to be free but now they're charging. There's a parking garage on the east side of the stadium, too. There's where I park but I'm not giving that honey hole away.
What do you like to eat? I can make a thousand suggestions.
What time will you arrive?
I will be there, my first time at this show. I was planning on getting to the stadium at about 5pm then find parking and food. Do you think the restaurants within walking distance will be jammed and should I eat before getting there?
I'm flying solo and have what I think is a pretty awesome seat, on the center aisle, row 32. BTW, I just checked Ticket master and the only seats left are outside the 10s.
