wow Matt, sorry I didn't get to say bye to you personally. I'm definitely going to drop by at firstbeat and finals.
good luck this summer... wish I could be out there with you.

Why...
because I'm significantly more awesome than you.

Interesting picture on your post. Sooooo.....you believe that if you concentrate hard enough you can create a tear in the universe and watch Cadets marching their show in the sky?
haha, I'm glad someone finally asked me.
if you ever watched The X-Files, you'd have seen this poster hanging in Mulder's office:

nothing fancy... I just copy and pasted a picture of The Cadets over the UFO, and changed the text, all done on paint.

Really? South Johnston High School went to San Antonio, St louis, and indy every year for 4 years in a row? If that was the case I don't think you would be paying only 250. Otherwise you must have some incredible band boosters
considering he went to the school, I'm guessing he'd know how much be paid to march.

as far as I know, The Cavaliers pretty much pioneered the style... I could be wrong.
I like them.

02 Crossmen.
I don't know about this... that was a pretty long opener, and it seemed pretty difficult.

sad to see Phantom 04 getting no love.
I loved that show... my favorite Phantom show of the decade so far.

Blue Knights 2001
BD 2005
Boston 2006 (Cathedrals of the mind? Sure)
Bluecoats 2003
2004 Cadets (except the guard)
Blue Knights 2003
Blue Knights 2002
Blue Knights 2001
2005 Glassmen
2005 Spirit
hated BK 01 so much, you had to add it twice, eh?

in no real order... really.
Cadets 05
Cadets 07
Phantom 04
SCV 06
SCV 07
Blue Knights 06
Blue Devils 00
Cavaliers 02
Bluecoats 07
Southwind 00
this was actually really hard... I feel bad for not including several shows.

yeah, glad that's a typo.
not a shot on Spirit at all, but I think it'd be too much for pretty much any corps. IMO, 72 is plenty... 76-80 is fine, but it's starting to get a little high. I will be able to live with the result though.
I have a hard time fathoming the result of 96 horns on the field in a drum corps... not just musically, but also visually. This would impact the versatility of the drill, and would obviously hamper the guard's numbers.

Honestly speaking I hate the heck out of that show announcement. For some reason it reminds me of what that G-d awful drumline Caroline Thunder used to write.
There is quite a lot of music listed. Going on past years, since '95, I have my doubts as to whether there will be something to grab onto musically that lasts more than 15 seconds.
yeah, they were terrible. Making independent world finals 4 years in a row is something ANY drumline can do, especially the God awful ones.

just watched the 07 SW I&E video... that's awesome.

I'm pretty optimistic about Southwind. From what I can tell, they have a lot of dedication still with the corps, and a lot of eager members, and future members that are ready to make 09 a success.

I was in a high school marching band that marches a pretty hard drill, and when I marched in 8th grade, it took me a bit to get it, considering I had been playing french horn for less than a year, and mellophone for less than a month. Once I figured out it was just numbers and making sure that I looked good, it all came together pretty quickly. I ended up getting rookie of the year, so obviously I did something right.

so, what's the list so far?
so far, I have:
SCV
Colts
Spirit
Academy
Madison
Crossmen
Pacific Crest
Pioneer
not a bad list so far. I wish Seattle, SW, and Magic (I think they marched a cym line) were still around so I could add a couple more.

Glassmen should march a cymbal line again.
while we're at it, every corps should march a cymbal line.

Madison is marching a cymbal line this year.

This has got to be the dumbest show title ever.

They do have a pretty cool logo on the Le Tour emblem.
I think you're talking about Blue Stars.
Bluecoats are doing Knockout.

if Bluecoats have a shirt anything like last year's Criminal tour shirt, it will probably be the best.

Wow, big guy - you really showed him!!!
seriously? did you even read what Cop posted?
I guess I'm the only one who appreciates the irony of the idea of intimidation on DCP. Really? We're all band nerds here.

Well, it doesn't "feel" very BD in some places with the rep; but, that said, there's lots of music in here that seems like it would make a pretty good show.
Allow me to vocalize my thoughts so far in the style of the show announcement:
2007 didn't let me down
so we'll see what this looks like in June
playing and spinning little antmen on a emerald field
a repertoire with the Man of Elf and not able to be touched
wait to see on a webcast near me
(in light of previous 80's)

Am i supposed to clap and cheer in times when its appropriate to, or do we all just stay quiet...?
from what I've noticed, it depends on the audience.
last year the the quarters show, I gave one huge Vanguard yell (at the appropriate moment in the show, of course), and I was the only one in the theater to do so.

Cadets 2005. I hated it when I saw it at firstbeat... now it's one of my favorite shows.
