  1. Any rumors of the Ohio Valley Performing Arts Assoc. or their subsidiary the Ohio Valley Thunder Drum and Bugle Corps being directly involved with the flooding of Wheeling Island or the pot hole known as Wheeling Island Stadium, are unfounded and mostly rhetoric from officials. However, we aren't exactly "sad" per se that the show venue has been moved...

p.s. Any alleged props dumped into said river would have to be dumped north of said island for said island to flood since said river flows south.

  5. What about those anonymous people giving a gift bag to a stranger? I usually grab a couple corps members at every show I go to and tell them to get in line at concessions and get whatever they want or need. They usually are taken quite by surprise and some even balk at the offer, so how would one give a gift bag to just any corps member after a show as they get ready to head out? Would you as a corps member take it, or be too leary about it? Just a thought. I am going to try it here in Dubuque for the small corps show. Bigdogs are always taken care of, nows time for the pups to get a gift or two.

First of all, bless you.

Second of all, what you can do is put together a care package like described above and take to a corps souvie trailer and tell the people there to give to someone who hasn't got mail all season. If you want to include a letter, you could write something along the lines of introducing yourself to the person, you never know how your kindness will affect someone.

  6. Dodd has a valid point. There is a good reason they have padding on the goal posts and stands. It was almost criminally negligent to leave a metal cart there. The band director is responsible for that and should have been disciplined.

    this is where you're wrong.

criminal negligence means they know something bad is going to happen but fail to take action.

this is not the case here. the carts were placed at a distance deemed "safe" by the NCAA and football operations staff members. so if anyone is to be disciplined, it would be the NCAA or football operations. however, seeing as they were deemed at a "safe" distance, yet there was still a problem, I don't really see how anyone should be deemed negligent. everyone did their job, and even though someone got hurt and that's unfortunate, nobody should lose their job over it.
