This show is to be better than 2002 Cavies and 2005 Cadets?
-
The narration is going away on my CD when I edit them out.
CD?!

Crowns drumline should just throw handfuls of gravel at the drum heads.

It means BAD ASSS CRUSADERS! Period! Ed Denon supposedly told potential mm parents it stood for Boston Area Corps, so please forgive us alumni who marched when BAC was created. This is a corps who in the tough times would yell while on the starting line "we don't gava!" This years Animal Farm, as tough as it is, and not liked by many very older alumni, has the corps DNA all over it the way the design team pokes fun at DCI and the G7 leaders, and trying their ###### best to move up the DCI ladder.
That's adorable.
-
Hope DCI gets and posts a good picture of retreat for us.
It'll look shot with a high-quality potato.

I think the fact that DCI is giving you the entire DCI Prelims prior to the Top 15 (including all of Open Class) on Thursday for FREE on the webcast is nice enough of a trade off.
Just my opinion.
That's super. Would have been nice to at least get a blogger, seeing as the red-headed stepchild known as Open Class doesn't appear on a Live Feed via Fan Network.

They are being squeezed by money now and have to pander to the certain people who give them grants.
Century Village?
-
Open Class gets the short end of the stick? The Open Class directors voted unanimously to come to Michigan City because it's a great town for drum corps, the locals come out, and the corps are treated like rock stars...an example of that being the police escort each corps gets out of town to the expressway.
Is Michigan City that bad of a town? lol

It's the danger of having drum corps shows outdoors. Which I prefer actually. But it's kind of amazing that DCI never has had to cancel a world class championship show due to rain...and probably never will now that it's indoors. (Although I do remember the Madison Scouts got rained on at finals in Mississippi in 1993?)
That was just the humidity.
-
The rest of the prelims have been cancelled
Spartans just now posted about the Rain Delay. Are you at the venue?

If you can't hum "Be Italian", the ballad, or the Goodwin chart, you should get your ears checked.
Humming the Elfman originals vs the corp's rendition are two different things.
When I hear Take 5 I always compare it to BD's rendition.
-
BD potentially will break the standing record.. and I'll still not find myself humming a lick of it come December.
Is it too much to ask for 2003/2004 BD again?

Wow! Coats 1st in drums AND 1st in brass!
So, Crown honks: are the kids and the staff still happy with tonight's performance?
Probably. This is about the kids, remember...
-
When I watch The Cadets march I assume their show is also titled Tilt.

I know the Bridgeman Alumni are there to just have fun, but it is a little sad to me. I prefer the remember the once proud awesome Bridgemen of my youth.
And of their youth as well.
-
I appreciate this Cadets show, and everything in it. But man, it's just....boring?
It's like BD post 2004 for me.
Edit: I respect what all corps do, and how just ####-clean some of them can be... But they just don't do anything for me.
(Imagine the Louis C.K. visual of "doing nothing for her there" lol)
-
lol no. Just said that Crown hornline had an off night and then got attacked :) But hey, whatever! Enjoy 6th place
... I'm not Carolina Crown

Hey, apparently all of us that think they had an off night are crazy...be careful, the Crown honk patrol is out in force.

What in the hell are you talking about?? That was a great run. Kids are happy. Staff is happy. Oh wait, I just read your handle. Nevermind....
-
Closer is cleaner technically tonight than the rest of show. And haven't the tempos been cranked a bit in the opener and the closer?
Seemed faster to me.
-
DCI corrected the scores.
They're listed below.

And Pigs fly.
With $900k I could probably be in a state of mind where I would believe they could actually fly.
But right now I'm only in a state of mind that can call BULL**** on that $900k quote.

Flying in from Cali for this one. Me thinks, with the sh*ty DOME sound in Indy, that this will be the best DCI show (sounding-wise) of the year. Massillon has a very similar sound to Madison, which I consider a true DCI stadium. Will the Coats take their 1st (and only) win that night?
I might have to consider making the trip to Massillon in the near-future, as aging out in Madison was won of the better acoustical venues I can recall.

BDB has a very early to mid 2000s BDA sound.. Thoroughly impressed. BDA can learn something.
