2006:
Raiders - 3rd Div. III
Revolution - 2nd Div. III
2007:
Raiders - 6th Div. II (9th overall)
Revolution - 4th Div. III (10th overall)
2008:
Raiders - 9th
Revolution - 8th
2009:
Raiders - tied for 6th
Revolution - tied for 6th
And now in 2010 they're right next to each other again!
Tell me about it, I lived through it! Mad props to them though, it will always be afun battle to watch.
Perhaps they are to each other as bdb is to scvc, or spartans were to ecj.... hmmmmm

Yep, sure is nice having 3 Texas open class corps looking to be in finals.
Revolution looks to medal once again since 2006 and may break their high score of 90.5 (2002 div III chmps)
Forte and Genesis look to battle Colt Cadets for the 9-10-11 spots with their first years out.
1/4 of the open finalist are going to be from texas! Woohoo

Think the same can be said for texas now? Revolution was pretty big last year, but now Genesis and Forte are in Texas. All three are realitively small.
-
The thing that I love....Spartans....arguably the most decorated Div II (open class, whatever) corps in DCI history that is still in existence is barred from this arrangement because it is based soley on Open class corps involvement with World Class teams. Why should Colt Cadets, BDB, and SCVC be entitled to special treatment from the G7? Though BDB and SCVC has stepped it up in recent years...those three open class corps have nothing compared to the awards and championships Spartans have earned in the past. SCVC and Colt Cadets dont even come out to finals every year.
More money for the parent organizations. The A clss gets paid and AAA gets the most

Tonight is a big night for open class with scores and shows for racine, colt cadets, bdb, bdc, scvc, and revolution (who is at 66 nd change). Who do you think will set the bar for the rest of the season? Will defending champs BDB keep the crown? Colt cadets or raacine scouts for madison? Good cleaan fun here! Discuss!
-
raiders are really nothing special, the only thing to the raiders is that...they are good and that is really it, nothing from them withstands above all. and yes, i did see music city, still as i said, nothing really special. they lucked out with kids knowing how to march and play, who cares. for 2nd place i can see oregon crusaders busting through and claiming that seat.
I don't know where you have been the past 5 years, but Raiders have been consistently in finals along side Revolution and Oregon Crusaders.
Raiders win div 3 in 2005,
Raiders get silver in 2006,
sorry, don't remember 07 season to well...
2008 on the heels of Revo,
2009 Raiders and Revo tie for 6th with Oregon right behind
-
Are they the ones in all black?
-
Not to be rude, but where are the trinity pics? I remember them from both 05 and 06 would love to see some pics of them again
-
Bump!
Approx. 90 days and counting til the first competition with open class present.
-
Actually rutledge would be thebest stadium around. Most seating, highest press box, and nice facilities, only problem.... and its a big one....
Parking...
I can go by tomorrow along with heroes and alamo stadium for picks, gimme til 7 to post.
-
Initially, yes.
It's worth noting though that there have been some other stadiums recently constructed in the SA area, like this one:
That would be heroes stadium next to morgan's wonderland. About a 10-15 minute drive north of the alamodome. Its nice with tons of parking but not very big stnd wise. Perhaps judson isd's stadium would be better. Huge stnds, nice seating (chairs) and tall press box
-
How about a two day event at alamo stadium?
I can call a friend to who books events at the alamodome and see if he knows anything.
-
Eric Senzig...fellow Sky 92 member. His dad is a Mafia Wars family member of mine.
If you are talking bout Revolution eric did not compose for them in 09, he did for 08 though and mystikal 09. Bill clark composed 09 and will again for 2010
-
yah but their reason for not attending finals was not what you thought...check the link i left for you on my last reply
I didn't say that they were going back to the old ways just that's what they had done in the past. In 2005 I had 4 weeks of alldays til we went to the north east for championship week, I think they are being smart and will be glad to cheer for them and my home team at the alamodome
-
not true they have been in finals consitantly for three or four years....
That's because finals in 2007 was in California, so it would have been silly not to attend for both bdb and scvc.
-
Uh jared, not sure if you caught it but scvc just announced "chakra" as their show.
-
Take it easy? I was just trying to clarify and educate.
If only they knew what we know. I still have aton to learn about a-60.
-
All on the list were at one point Open Class/Div2/3
Takeit easy on him, he is still in high school. Lol
-
As for predictions....
1) bdb, still hot off of last year but may have lost members who wanted to go world with their open class rings.
2) raiders - they have been steady over the years with greater numbers as well
3) revolution - same as raiders
4-5) spartans/oregon crusaders - these two will battle it out all summer
6) vk - keep growing and entertaining
7-8) 7th reg and legends - coming off a good year last year, moving on momentum
9) forte - new recruiting efforts help numbers
10)music city - continue to improve
11) colt cadets - welcome to finals!
12) racine scouts - housed with them in 07, great family and fun
-
They do this year. My friend is the section leader.
Ugh, after I age out. Nice.

I happen to know two people on Revolution's staff. I do not know them from a drum corps stand point, but the two I know are their brass capt head Julian(?) and the cym tech, James. Julian probably is a good brass tech, he most likely knows what he is doing. The brass line at Revo sounds great and their loud. Execution is lacking. James is a funny dude, but one of the reasons I did not consider Revo after they went inactive.
And now with Forte being based in Texas, one has to wonder how the camps are going to be with two potentially great OC corps close to each other (kinda). Good Luck to both though, I know people afiliated and marchiing with both.
Actually Revolution does not have cymbals (they may this year) and James was a percussion visual tech as far as I remember. Julian joined us in 07in Chicago and james in 08 during camps. The corps went inactive in 2004 and came back in 2005 with Tim overturf for percussion, ajay riojas (half season) for guard, roger williams for brass, moses+unknown+ for visual, and GM Kuzma as director.

I have to disagree with you 100% here. Anyone who actually listened to their performance heard the beauty of the arrangement. Where they suffered *and suffered heavily* was their brass performance. It wasn't a matter of what they were trying to communicate lacking, but rather how poorly they were doing it. I heard them at a couple of rehearsals going in to finals, and honestly, it was brass instructional staff that held them back.
Eh, I have to disagree with you as well. I marched under julian's brass line of 08 and can tell you he knows quite a bit, and the staff he had for 09 knew a ton! I have to say myself that the condition of the instruments are in poor condition (bought used from kiwanis kavaliers. The newest instruments were the tubas from dynasty bought in 07 and finally received in 08. The arranger is awesome and did a fantastic job, the kids in the hornline worked hard and effiecently this year, and staff came together much better than in past years ( I marched 05-08). Seen it all, looking forward to the returning staff, members, and wicked pants I only got to model nd never march in! Lol

Citations guard is SICK! Now, only if the perc. could get it together!s
Looking at the recaps the visual program is amazing, but lacks severely in music which is hurting them.

Yes and no to your question. While much of the staff and maybe a handful of kids came from the 2009 season of Mystikal, Genesis is on their own when it comes to ties, as well as Forte. Each of course has their own nonprofit status and BoD, but yes you can say that their "experience" comes from the corps before I guess.
