The source music is extremely cool.
Can't wait to see their version on the field!!

Check out the judge getting ready to munch on a chocolate bar. Here these kids are playing the show of their lives, and he's eating chocolate!!
What's up with THAT?!?!

My vote is for New World Symphony. 89 PR is one of my ALL time favorites.
Unfortunately the drum book was quickly outdated.
Cadets 1989, on the other hand, still sounds somewhat modern.

And i shouldn't have even mentioned that I didn't come on here to bash any corps I came on her for some enlightenment
Jesus.... on the internet..... looking for enlightenment........

Can't wait to hear how they are going to sound with Pearls!
Seriously.
Are they going to choke the sound of the snares like they have with with the Dynastys and Yamahas before them, or are they going to let some of the actual snare sound come off the Pearls like Vanguard does and Regiment did before they switched?
-
I'm curious as to what Blue Devils' snare sound will be like with Pearls.
Regardless, they deserve props for changing Dynasty from the completely useless tubs that they debuted in 1992.

Loved your top 50 even though I saw my own pictures on it  :worthy: :worthy:
Must have nabbed them from the Northern Aurora/Saginaires Facebook page.

I've used THIS with great results.

What about a full-**sed version of stuff they did 15-20 years ago like SCV and Cadets just did in 2009?
In that case, Strawberry Soup please.
Actually ANY Don Ellis would be cool.

Add their version of hotel california :P
It could be the new Malaguena.
Pit parts could be meaty pulling from all of those guitar parts.

This offseason certainly isn't boring.

My gods.... who's going to be cooking for them next summer.... Gordon Ramsey?

Bitte.
Gowdy!..........?

It's reassuring to know that DCP isn't the only source of crazy on teh internetz.
That's why teh internetz invented inmotio.net!

They should back up I&E a day, if not open the week with it.

Mt. Pleasant, PA is some seriously hilly terrain.
One of Spirit's drum instructors lives there.

The show that made it to Madison in June was completely different than the show that made it to Madison in August. We had a winner and turned it into a mess.
A lot of people love that show, because it was pretty much all old school. There were a lot of good things in it. But, it could have and should have been magic.
Wow, glad to hear some insight on the show.
Watching that show one time early season in Madison was 10+ minutes of sensory overload.... and I loved it. The guard, the sparkle drums... Music of the Night as the on-field warm up. It's been 17 years, but even after the show I couldn't remember everything I had just seen. It was literally a jaw-dropping, constant goose bump-inducing, wipe up the drool at the end-type of experience from the minute you guys went on the field to the minute you left the gate.
Sorry to hear it was such a tension-filled scene.

SCV 92.
It was still okay by the end of the season (awesome drumline), but it wasn't even close to the show they brought to Madison earlier in the season.
-
As far as a "No tolerance" approach to talking/comments during a corps performance.....well....I don't support that. At DCI finals two years ago a fan went SHHHH to my father after he said "Awesome drumline" in a very low voice.
Now that could have just been a difference of opinion between the shusher and your dad!

I don't understand. NA placed 24th in 1993, playing Kansas. They also placed 24th in 1992 playing music of Keith Emerson/ELP. So how is that a curse?
NA grew in size from 92 to 93, but didn't improve at all. Mullet rock (poor man's prog rock) needs to be kept off the football field.
Show me ten members of that corps that still think it was a great show to play all summer long and I'll show you ten members that have extremely effective therapists.
And ELP>Kansas any day of the week.
Best of luck to Spirit this summer.

I can understand it for this year. However it seems every year there are those that just hate it... and i dont get it.
I'm not a fan, but that's just me.
Something about "writing the audience into the show" just bugs me - and I'm a huge SCV fan.
But I'd rather just sit back and enjoy the show and cheer at my own leisure than to sit there waiting for my cue.

It really is a great piece of music. It has always me wonder what might have been (outside of movie soundtracks) if he hadn't died so relatively young.
