I ran down to their booth after their show in Atlanta and bought a shirt... REALLY cool show.

It's a pretty cool shirt, too (the show shirt). I picked one up as well after seeing them at finals.

It's the hats. They catch the wind and make the corps members tip over. :P
All kidding aside, they have an amazing show. It's sad that they didn't make semi's, but in a few years I could see them edging into the top 12.

you would think with 250+ people in the room the 99 bottles of beer would go a lot faster...you all better practice those drinking skills before you head to Mad-town B)
I'll bite...How many bottles left?

Drum corps like guys with skills!

Right on. I love their show. I've seen it three times and like it more and more each time I see it. Their version of Equus, if you ask me, sounds better in terms of staying true to the original composition than the arrangement Cadets did last year (I also heard that Eric Whitacre HATED the way Cadets played it last season). I could see them eventually edging their way into the Top 12 in the future.

If something's illegal then no corps would utilize it....certainly not the Cavies
I think Jeff Fiedler has a good idea what's legal and what's not
Quoted for truth...I'm sure they did some rulebook-digging before adding amped whistles within the first three minutes of the show.

Way to go Blooo...Almost a full FIVE POINTS ahead of Madison. Of course the gap is likely to close later in the season, but that's pretty good nonetheless.

I don't think they should be differently priced- MOST of the money goes to the corps. And a small amount goes towards legal expenses for making recordings available.
According to DCI, "100% of the download revenue is distributed to the current member corps including Division I, II & III corps to assist in offsetting their annual touring costs. The revenue generated from non-competing corps or non-existing corps goes into the general fund."
-
pardon me...but I don't believe they were competing so you don't really have anything to worry about
it sounds like it was fun for the kids, so at least give them some credit
I think you misunderstood me. I don't really care one way or another that a marching band played at a DCI show. The first thing I saw when I pulled up the article were the words "band" "drum" "corps". I honestly did shed a tear.

how much are they anyway?
$2.99 for non-subscribers and $1.99 for subscribers.

Read the headline first and you'll know why I felt like killing myself when I saw this.

The APD is great and the show is awesome, but the sop solo around 2:48 could use some work.

To me, it's worth the dough.
You get access to tons of videos that are subscriber-exclusive (they currently offer 2-3 minutes of pretty nice quality video of each corps's performance at Lisle, Ill. As the season progresses, more videos like these will be added).
There are heaps of audio, too. You get interviews with corps members and directors, as well as reduced prices on the APD's (might not seem like much but if you buy many of them, the discount stacks up pretty nicely). Season Pass also features the "Field Pass" audio magazine, which is usually pretty interesting. The feature that I use the most is the FREE unlimited streaming of any Top 12 show since '72.
I just renewed my subsciption a few days ago (no real point to have it from Sept-May; they say they continue to add stuff but it's not really worth it, if you ask me) and am very welcoming of the stuff I missed when I didn't have access.

I know that a lot of people are hoping for Phantom to get new unis in order to match their show. I also heard that Southwind is getting new unis for the '07 season.

Once the said singer(s) would see the amount of work it would take, they'd bail. On the other end, I doubt that any corps would be willing to pay a famous singer millions of dollars to tour for three months and sleep on a gym floor. I wouldn't worry too much about this happening.
