Getaway!?! As in Earth, Wind & Fire?

Are you guys playing Latin this year?
-
Wow! $20K! That's an impressive fundraiser.
-
Nothing beats seeing it live and in person.
-
Free Nachos would go a long way to filling those empty seats.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Deanna Garber! 11 years straight, 13 years strong...the longest continuously marching member in (modern) Buccaneer history!
It has been a pleasure to share the field with her for 10 of the past 11 years. :)
AWESOME!

Great year for DCA!

35 corps, maybe 2500 - 3000 performers & staff and admin directly involved with the event. I find it hard to believe that 4000+ tickets can't be sold for these events with a minimal amount of word of mouth marketing by all those with a stake in the game. Have each corps sell a block of 50-100 tickets and your almost there. Make it a fun weekend getaway, fill a bus with fans, include tickets for all the events in the package and throw in a t-shirt. Bam!
-
I bet some of the corps would like to have this option to avoid exposing dirty drill.
...In specific cases- David Copperfield for instance, they even tell them what seats aren't allowed to be sold, and under no circumstances are people allowed to be seated in them, period. In that case- the angles from those seats would have given away how the illusions are done....

I'm going with the "lots of places flipping around" crowd, mostly cause it makes for an interesting night, even if it is only a guess. Looking forward to having a round or three with lots of old friends.

Can't really say ahead of time who is gonna win. It's tough to do without knowing who's gonna score the highest. One thing I did notice at Wayne, is that the shows all seem to be in cahoots with making Cooter's mind go a wanderin'. Anyways, it was great to back after an unexpectedly long vacation....nuff said.
Everything was fine till Bush played Blowin' in the Wind, which got me a reminiscing about the 60's. Peace love and all that other fun stuff, you know what I mean.
After Bush got my mind in the right place, then Fusion wheels out the biggest friggin' bed I have seen in years, not that they really did anything all that "fun" on it, but still, it gets you thinkin' a certain way.
Cadets 2 show is pretty tame, other than the title. "Our Favorite Things" might mean one thing to some, but I got back to thinking about some of MY favorite things.
Then here come the Buccaneers playing a Jim Morrison show. Ok, maybe not the whole thing, but still, that Doors music is some primal stuff. C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon and touch me babe. Can't you see that I am not afraid?
CV's whole show was about Hex. Nuff said.
To top it off, the Cabs come out and basically put on a red light district exposé. I haven't seen so much mesh and lace on the field since a certain California corps made the DCA audience members cover their children's eyes. Talk about en fuego!
I won't be at Secaucas, but I think things will be tight. Very tight. Should be a hot, sultry night of drum corps.
-
There's lots of things I wish for, but it never seems to make them happen. I haven't seen MBI yet, or Corpsvets for that matter, so I won't make any predictions, other than this supposed log jam of 3 or 4 corps will clear up by Scranton and the races will be more apparent for each spot, not just 1st.
Seem no one else wants to see 4 or 5 corps race for the gold. :blow:/>/> Glad to see it here! :starwars:/>/> Keeps things fun till end at Annapoo. :tugowar:/>/>
Here's guess for Top 5...
CADETS TOO
CABS
BUCS
MINEESOTA
EMPIRE....
all within 2 points! :crazy:/>/>

Bucs 4th or 5th?! I'll take that action if you are offering the chance. I'm pretty sure things will be straightened out very soon.
Wow! When is last time Bucs have been THIRD in season rankings? Seems like times might be a changing. Know they didn't compete this week, but in past, managed to stay ahead even when had weekend off, IIRC.
Be very curious to see what happens at Downingtown this weekend with Minnesota and Cadets 2. Could see Reading drop to 4th or 5th, depending on Cabs and Empire score.
Should be interesting Finals down in Annapo. Can't wait!

LOVED your corps and show last year! I can't wait to see what you guys put together this year. Any hints for an old fan?
-
There's got to be a better way for groups that aren't trying to make money use this music. Seems way more complicated than it has to be. Oh well, what are you going to do?
-
75 years! Wow! Always love you guys at the Barnum Fest. It's great to see a group with their own true identity blow the house down.
-
I don't see DCA ever selling out that stadium. There's gotta be at least 20,000 seats on the home side.
Is it sold out yet?
-
Me too, but I would love to see some of the competing DCA corps at some of the Alumni events.
Love those alumni corps, so loud and evil.
-
So, I guess tomorrow will be your encorps Meet & Greet?
Best of luck with launching your corps this season!
