Let me know where you guys are crashing at and maybe the Math staff will come out for a few cold frosty ones.
-
Little bit of both I'm sure. You guys coming out in Open?
I'll of course be there with Aftermath, Cymbal feature might be a little long, tell me what you think.
-
with all the chat that Coats and Crown shouldn't be on there, isn't it interesting that they both have votes and Devils have none?
-
Hey Jeff, when are you going to get out to some WGI stuff? So you can see my real crazyness. Coatesville regional?
-
Most people that have seen my lines call me crazy, so I guess that's true then.
-
Just so you know your not crazy, I've been having the same thing happen. Maybe they got hacked or they are having server problems?
-
First vid I ever saw was Phantom '89, saw it in 93, before I went to my first show in 95.
-
'01, gets my vote. Don't mean to be that biased guy, but I am.
-
To eat at the best diner in America, near Birney Crum in Allentown, again...
You mean people eat at some place other that Yocco's hot dogs?!?!?!?!
-
Phantom 95 or 96, black, snare line drawing.
-
How many does that think sleep?
-
Tom Case, JR. is teching the cymbal line, and we are using the Hannum approach.
Come out to the next camp if you are interested.
Cp
You tell big man TC that Steve said hi. I helped him out when he was the cymbal tech at Surf. I was the cymbal tech for Bucs the past 3 seasons. Good luck, always love seeing more cymbal lines out there. How's the interest for lids so far?

Who's teaching the cymbal line this year?
-
Bluecoats drum score quaters 01.
YEAH, what he said!!
2000's show had the best cooridination of any show up until that point, at least that's what I think.
-
Well the 'S' looked pretty nice.
Here's a pic of the entire thing when we learned how to finally spell SDSU.
Anyway, in my 03 show at the end of the opener the angle setter always seemed to be in a different place and I was near the back of the line. That was always fun to look for.
Plenty of good seats still available..........

You're right about that. I just checked yesterday.
*whew......thought I was going just dreaming up all the judges meetings I went to where we talked about musicality
-
I would think that it falls under the Ensemble Music caption.
I am not a Cadets drumline fan, I just wanted to clear that up...
Musicality falls all over EVERY part of the drum score, ensemble, field, everywhere. The field judge is looking at player to player, are their heights together? playing with the same quality of sound? Are volumes the same player to player? If they are both not playing at MF, then it isn't musical. The upstairs cat is looking at groups to groups, snares to bass, and drums to horns, are the snares balanced with the tenors, if not, it isn't musical.

Well, since I'm not teaching this summer, I'll meet you in the lot!

I've had to cut a couple of kids in my day. Say I have 7 cymbal players trying out for 6 spots. The kid who isn't going to make it, say his name is Jimmy. I'll like all 7 kids up and say "Ok, whoever thinks there making the cymbal line, step forward." And as they all step forward, I'll go over , stop Jimmy and say "not so fast Jimmy"
Or maybe I'll put a band-aid on his sleeping gear, since he's been cut.
Seriously though, every kid that I have ever cut, they've know it was coming. At the end of a camp, I bring in all players by themselves, asking them how they did. 100% of the time, if a kid wasn't going to make it, they would say how they messed this up, didn't do this well, so on and so on. I would then tell the kid what they needed to work on if they would like to try out for the group next year.

It's 10 points repretoire and 10 points excellence
Do you think Musicality might fall into that 10 points rep score at all?
-
No, don't worry. You're not the only one.
Sure aren't........
-
I actually asked this same question in the "any show you coulda marched" thread. Show to me would mean just ONE show, I don't see an S on the end..........so why do people put 63 shows??
-
The Kilties had 7 plate players at the last camp, and one missing!! b**bs
Who's teaching that cymbal line this year?
-
I find it funny that alot of folks put cymbal lines in there mix, but cymbal lines are disappearing faster than ever before.
And Jaime, I need at least 6 cyms........
Why I can't wait for the 2006 season to start...
