    5. Madison Scouts Alumni 2006 - This is the true definition of the word family. For 15 minutes, all of us were taken back in time. For those of us lucky enough to see the Scouts of the 70's, 80's and 90's, we were allowed to relive our youth. For those that had never witnessed the Scouts of old, it was a chance to see buffet of one of the greatest corps of all time. The Scouts were famous for getting the crowd to stand and scream their heads off (I think this is where the term "throw your first born on the field as a sacrifice" was born"). On this night the standing ovations were accompanied by tears of joy. There is no better way, IMO, to educate the youth of this activity on drum corps of yesterday.

    It is amazing that i get labelled as a troll while the people on here have belittled the staff that brought the corps from out of finals to the success thay have experienced. It appears for the most part they have returned to pre success levels with in the staff. Was Scott Stewart not available?

    Also i am suprised people have not complained about comments like true allumni. I would bet Boerma, Weymeyer, Salas would be very suprised that they were not true allumni. I guess they thought out side the box and have been shunned.

    I have enjoyed the Scouts for many years but I think some mistakes have been made with the elimination of people who were advancing you. I guess we will know in August...maybe in June.

    I don't think you are a troll. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. I do think you need to work on your spelling, however. Alumni (not allumni), ecstatic (not extatic), labeled (not labelled) and lose (not loose) are a few examples. OK, OK . . . the last one wasn't you.

    I marched with the Scouts in the late 90's. When Scott left, I was devastated. Since his departure, with the exception of 2005, I have been disappointed by the shows.

    I'm thrilled to have Matt Gregg, Chad Duggan, Jon Schipper and Taras Nahirniak on the staff. I'm very sad to see Scott Boerma go, just as I was sad to see Van Mathews leave.

    I'm optimistic that the Scouts will be one of the most entertaining corps in the years to come. I guess time will tell.

    Meadowlands Contest

    OK, New Jersey Transit has not included the contest as a "special event" for the Meadowlands bus service. If you live in Manhattan, how are you planning to get to and from the Meadowlands? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Have you figured anything out? I live in Manhattan and was hoping to take a bus from Port Authority. Will this not work?

    If I take a NJ Transit train 1 stop to Secaucus, will there be taxis there?

    Thanks for all of the great emails and messages for Scott. Please keep them coming, along with other great ideas like some have suggested, such as making a short greeting video from Scott and Junko to post to all well wishers, and a slide show (photos) of the event.

    Here's your opportunity to ask Scott specific questions about your favorite Madison show, tradition, myth, or anything else that you've always wondered about in regard to the Madison Scouts. We're looking forward to a great event on Sunday, and we hope you'll be able to share in it. Pass the word! Bye for now!

    I really like "Cadillac of the Skies" too.

    I love "Amazing Grace", and I didn't know it wasn't Phantom's corps song. Do they play that every year, or no?

    he also said they would change their ending from semi's to final's . . .

    I've heard that the show music has already been selected for '06.

    anyone know what it is?
