  1. Having trouble getting to dci.org already. I hope someone posts the feed link here just in case some of us aren't able to get to the site to get the link to the feed.

They said it would appear right on the home page when it was time. But so far, it hasn't.

"Tonight, following the final performance of the evening at Lucas Oil Stadium, join announcer Brandt Crocker as he brings you the scores and awards from the 2012 World Championship Finals LIVE from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis!

The webcast screen will show up on the DCI.org homepage at approximately 10:45 ET. No subscription required!"

  2. When does the recaps come out? I am really interested in the percussion caption after Pipitone dumped the whole top 4 last night.

While we're waiting for the recaps, Michael Boo posted the recap highlights on his blog tonight.

In percussion, BD beat SCV by 0.10, Crown 3rd, Cavies 6th, PR 7th, Glassmen 12, Crossmen 14th.

  3. Thanks. My nephew (current marching age percussionist) got Fan Network and he was asking which shows to watch. I knew we'd covered that here before, but I was unable to get a good enough search string to find the old threads. I wanted to give him a list of what is not to be missed and what are some of the shows that everyone talks about.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

  4. You can send your iPad display to the AppleTV from any app. Double-click the home button, swipe to the left, tap the AirPlay icon and you should be able to toggle the display between the iPad and the AppleTV. I'm not familiar with the iSwifter app but if it displays video full screen you should be in business.

I'll echo what Kevin (I think) said earlier: This is a pretty Rube Goldberg set up. You might get better results hooking up a laptop to the TV directly (AirPlay streaming for Macs coming in Mac OS X Mountain Lion, yay!).

Thanks! Some apps have the airplay icon embedded, but when they don't, I didn't know how to find it. Silly me - iPad 101! (Don't tell my son.) The iSwifter app does allow me to see flash/html5, but I couldn't get any sound on it. I did end up just hooking up the laptop to the tv and speakers and had a great time watching the show! Thanks to all the great folks who responded.

  5. Wpw - thanks for the quick help!! You guys rock!!!

Yeah, there's no sound from the iSwifter app, which allows me to get the streaming on the iPad. But I'm having some issues with the app now telling me i'm locked out of my fan network account, and the window doesn't scroll to allow me to type in the password along with my secret question. So obviously i'm doing something wrong there. I'll either play with that to figure it out or dump it.

It's not the newer AppleTV Pro, so I guess it won't be able to use airplay. I'll look into Airparrot, but in the meantime, I think you're all correct about the rube goldberg setup. Think I'll be better off with the mini dvi to hdmi connection.

Thanks again for the help! Enjoy the show.:thumbup::worthy:

  6. Since my son is on tour and can't help me - can anyone here tell me how to stream this to my appletv from either an iPhone, iPad or macbookpro? I have the swifter app on my iPad, which is allowing me to see the stream (no sound though), and can't figure out how to send it to the appletv. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

  7. Reposting here too:

Wow - hard to understand all the angst about the Blue Devils show. When I saw it in the theater at Quarterfinals, I thought it was intense, awesome, extremely interesting, and very well done. Loved the guard uniforms, the music, the field coverage, the intensity of it. Can't speak to tonights performance or to a live viewing, but from what I saw, I thought they earned and deserved their scores. Congratulations to the Blue Devils for a very entertaining and outstanding performance.

Awesome show and awesome performance. Congratulations to the corps and all who helped them get there!!!

  9. I'm not understanding why some of these smaller and all-age corps have only a few hundred votes. Seems like they could garner enough of a push to get out the vote. Also would think that the DCP vote could help them out quite a bit. It's too bad -- I'm sure they could use the money.

Couldn't some of these corps launch a local campaign to get people in their community help them out? Well, I guess it's not as easy as it seems...
