  1. Judges are usually in the pressbox ! That would be good news if they were all there ! Been away a while, but can't forget the percussion judge at 2008 finals. It became a question of when the collision was going to happen, and finally it became all about the judge ! One could not concentrate on the show. I was total overkill...

  2. Several of us were sitting in the stands at Michigan City... I know that the issue is money, however what has happened was exactly the main part of the conversation. We wondered if they (Music City) did not get a good placement, would they hang around another year. They are/ were just too big a corps to be finishing where they were !

This is a huge loss for the open class, and also at the shows I.E. Johnsonburg,Pa, Avon Lake, Ohio etc where no one really cares about the scores. Another point here or there, they might still be aeound.

  3. Well, in this picture of their concert in Portland earlier this week, I count 37 percussion and 48 brass. But clearly all the brass aren't shown, there maybe 20+ more. And the guard is not pictured. So, easily 120+, ie about right for their likely placement in the teens.

    Great photo....sending a nice message...

  4. Walked out of the Bigelow lab at Woods Hole a couple of years ago, an saw a car on the dock with a Madison Scouts insignia on the back window. Turned out that the capt of the r/v Tioga was a snare drummer with Madison a few years earlier. Further down th dock was another larger ship, the r/v Knorr, which was the ship used to find the Titantic. Turns out the Chief Mate was in a corps as a kid, and had just finished driving Bostons equipment trailer earlier that year. Another gal, a techie on the vessel was in the guard with Pacific Crest.

  5. I hope you are right...but I hate to say, the judges will do everything in their power to keep Madison out of the TOC. They will wind up behind the Cavaliers and Boston...that is my sad prediction. At quarter finals, they play before intermission. Not a good spot. I think the judges will put them in 9th. How sad is that? They don't look or sound like a 9th place corps, IMO. More like 6th or 7th. Judges just don't like them. And don't tell me it is their execution...what other corps could do that rotating front as well as them? There are corps above them that are not executing their shows as well as them. It is all political crap. For one, I'm sick to death of these #### biases by the judges. We need to write to DCI instead of wasting our time expressing our opinions on this forum. Unfortunately, the DCI folks probably never even bother to read this stuff.

Madison is more Patriotic and American than the other kids on the field. Right ! Automatic standing ovations regardless ! the nerve of these other corps to even think of scoring higher, just because they work their tails off

  6. Didn't find anything related to the Boston Crusaders there, but they did post it on their Facebook later.

Saw the show. Very impressed with the hornline. They've got volume! Gotta make sure they don't blow out of tune while blowing their brains out though. We'll see if they can sound this good on the field, but from what I saw, I was very very happy.

The percussion was impressive as well, but still has some early season dirt. It's to be expected. Also seemed to be a few first show jitters, but overall I thought the drumline was awesome as well.

I think people will remember the "break from the blues band" more than the blues band itself. I know I would. But hey, I'm very biased.

Have to be a facebook person (I am not ) to get information with the Crusaders. Web site is more internal, and does not have tour schedule. It woulld help to know if there is a show close enought to attend..
