I would hardly call a 19.2 in brass performance lacking. Scores for all corps were insanely high last year. If the top 7 corps can break 19 in brass performance, then I would hardly say they held them back. 19.2 is a very high score whether you're in 7th or 3rd.
It is not that it is bad. It's just that that was their lowest caption. To say that their percussion needs to be fixed means that they are the lowest scoring caption.

I think Crown will rise up. They had and always will have an awesome hornline. If they fix up there percussion, they can probably break the Top 3.
IIRC, their brass is what held them back. Brass performance came in 7th. Percussion was definitely there last year.

Simply yell out a number (for example, 3 if the subject is directly to the right), and nobody ever catches on.
I love the Wildwood parades.

Not really an "easter egg" but I tried to rip off the files of the 07 dvds today and when I explored the dvd I ripped off a file of the video crew recording the show and its quite funny to hear them yelling at things such as a judge being in a shot of the quartet at the beginning of Crown and you hear "OH COME ON GET OUT OF MY SHOT" and another "Oh coooooome ooooon guys don't screw this up.....Oh not you all (referring to the filming crew) I'm talking about the corps"
That's the easter egg in the 07 dvd. Go to disc 3, check recap, and scroll over crown. You'll like it.

Brand X’s Christmas party was a total disaster. It was suppose to be a fundraiser for local area music programs, but no money was raised. It seems that the hall they rented, was not available. They had sold tickets to the event and put up lots of posters before securing the hall. The hall had been rented already for a private party. Brand X refused to cancel the event and decided to hold the event in the parking lot. The halls management rejected this idea and called police to remove the Corps from the parking lot. Brand X was charged with trespassing and was fined $10,000 and the corps director is expected to perform 80 hours of community service. The fine has sent the board of directors into a panic. If they have to pay this fine, they will not field a corps next year. The other fundraiser, selling medical marijuana has not yielded any profits. In fact it is loosing money, since most of the members have not sold any of the marijuana and can’t find their portion. Things don’t look good for Brand X.
And DCI doesn't care about the smaller corps. Why won't DCI prevent great corps like Brand X from folding?

Personally, I love gripped gloves, having used both fabric and grip. The fabric feels nice, but the grip makes you feel like you really have the horn in your hands. Plus grip is just used for all around use, including pushups on the field

The worst thing for me was how people acted in their uniform. The complete lack of respect really set me off.

The prices I've seen on this thread all just seem extravagant (sp?). I didn't know that most MBs had a price in the hundreds. My marching band has a measly $25 charge and some people don't even pay it.

I believe Phantom 06 was based off the book, Faust. You could explain whether the characters in the show accurately or inaccurately represent the characters in the book. 5-page essay....and begin!

OT, but I seem to recall seeing Crown's list of places that they were staying at. For the East Rutherford show, they stayed in Pompton Plains, only 5 minutes from Wayne, when we just moved in the day prior.

I know this show has always been held at Giants Stadium, but the schedule says that it's in Piscataway this year (for those of you not from Jersey, it's where Rutgers University is located). I've been to Rutgers in my college search and their stadium is incredible, so it doesn't really matter that much, but I just want some clarification. Is this show at Giants Stadium or Rutgers? (hopefully a Cadet will answer, since it's their home show)
I doubt a Cadet would answer because it isn't the members who determine the location. Plus you could just wait and see. The schedule only came out yesterday. There are many TBAs, so let them be TBAs.

I'm actually excited to have a lot more mixed shows for the Raiders. Each and every mixed show we get to see Boston. The last one in Piscataway (where people can come and visit) has all the East Coast finalist corps
In general, I like the increase in shows. On a more negative note, I feel for the NW. Personally, there's just something I love about Spokane. It's sad to see others not get the opportunity to see them or others have to go way out of their way to see them.

Honestly, I'm a bit offended. We are a Div II (now open class) corps. We don't really go to those World class shows.

I recently received my dvd's in the mail and have one lingering question. Why didn't Crown win. I know most will say because BD, Cavies, Cadets, etc etc were all better but what was wrong with Crown's show? Did they not perform as well as all the others? To my untrained eye it all seemed pretty clean. I saw alot of moving and playing which some are accused of not doing. Was the show too accessible? Was the brass, percussion parts too easy? Was it dirty? Maybe some of you folks in the know could help me out. I saw something that was extremely entertaining and performed at an extremely high level. What gives?
Honestly, they came in 6th because 07 was a year of many great corps. The top 8 broke 90. Spots 5-7 were within .2 points after finals. If this was 06, they would've come in 4th, score-wise. So it's like I said before. There were just too many good corps.
