NO ONE in our organization has "slammed", as you put it, the new corps in TEXAS!!! We are very glad to see this happening, and can't wait to see them on the field.
Dan Zeilinger is our corps director.......the person that posted "well known name of a dead corps" has NOTHING whatsoever to do with our organization.
Thank you :)

With the increase to 150 members, does anybody know what the Contra err Tuba (cringe) numbers are going to look like for any of the corps this year?
Since the switch to Bb, I've always felt more Contras were needed. I would love to see drum corps pouring as many "extra" members into the low brass as possible.
I wonder if Phantom is thinking about 20 this year :)
This rule will be applied in 2008. Corps numbers are still at 135 for 2007... either way, 20 contras would be ^0^ ^0^

didn't magic only miss one?
They missed from 99 to 01, I think, but they came back as an exhibition corps in 2001 as MicroMagic and then into Div II in 2002. They were bumped to Div I after they won Div II.

Nothing at all against Cascades, but they're cutting people so that they can fit on two busses. They've got more building to do.

Thats quite an assumption...
Maybe I should rephrase that...
I'm sure EVERY drum corps has thrown candy at retreat, at one point or another... I dunno about worse things... my bad

This thread is really pointless... I'm sure EVERY drum corps has thrown candy at retreat, if not worse things. This thread should be closed.

PR 96... Camp Randall Stadium... ^0^

I think, as long as it works, its fine with me. I personally teach the Cavaliers marching style to my percussion ensembles. Its very fluid, relaxed, and you have a better sense of balance with it... yes even with drums. Of course, I try to maintain the style even on high speed drill that associated with most indoor drumlines. I've experimented and found this style to be the best looking for my groups.

I don't think they have ever won drums since switching to Dynasty. I could be wrong.
BD hasnt won drums since 97.
On another note, PR 2006 wasnt an easy book. Trust me, it was very difficult, but yet... complete PWNAGE

As a percussion judge for a local circuit here, execution and musicality is something we definitely look at. Personally, I would rather see a snareline execute a simple to intermediate musical phrase with high clarity and technique, than to see a snareline play beef with difficulty and lots of clarity issues. Yes, musicality is also a factor as well as effect when it comes to play certain musical passages. A long triplet roll at 205bpm played perfectly and executed with maturity can be just as a effective as semi-clean beef or stick tricks.
