  1. Nobody's complaining about BDs visual... Blue Devils are probably going to win visual. They are superb. What exactly are you even trying to say?

I get that you don't like their show this year, and I know I don't like BDs. But I'm still blown away by BDs performances and execution of their design. You should never down talk excellence. No matter what corps you're a honk for. Sure, I give BD the business all the time. At least I admittedly respect them.

Point being that you can disagree with Crown deserving gold. That doesn't mean they actually don't, though. Doesn't matter if the show was easy or not.

Edit: why don't we move this to Crown thread. This is for predictions.

No one around here complains about BD's visual?! Are you ******* kidding? That's pretty much the DCP calling card. I'm not going to get into any ### for tat BS about whether or not I'm a BD 'honk.' Honestly, I don't even know what that term means, and I don't care to know. In regards to Crown 'deserving' the gold...they don't, and they won't. As far as predictions go...simply to appease you, sir.

    1. Blue Devils because they're playing their own game and no one else even comes close

    2. Bluecoats

    3. Crown and/or Cadets - It doesn't really matter

  2. 1-Crown-95

    2-BD -94.85

    3-Bluecoats -93.995

    4-Cadets--93.85

    5-SCV-92.0

    6-BK-90.55

    7-Cavies -88.65

    8-Phantom-88.25

    9-Madison -86.45

    10-Boston-86.00

    11-Crossmen -85.60

    12-Blue stars-85.225

    13-Troopers -83.55

    14-Colts -83.50

    15-Academy -82.0

    16-Spirit-80.00

Lol at this guy thinking that the champion is going to score a 95. What year is this? 1980?

  3. Do you have any idea how hard it is to play clasher chords in tune, balanced, and at that volume? Their brass is super exposed this year, the body movement is harder because it's more intricate than marching and it has to be just as clean. Your points are ridiculous and I haven't even talked about your thoughts on other corps

What the **** is a clasher chord?!

  4. You have no basis for claiming the obvious, and you have no basis for claiming I'm not among the list of people to whom Mr. Gibbs was appealing.

Misery? Hmmm... I'm hardly miserable (of course, you have no basis for knowing that, either).

Answer please: Did I say anything UNTRUE?

i'll get back to you on that once i have time to go read the entire thread. some of us have real lives that exist outside of the internet.

  5. OMG :worthy:

OK, "The Oakland Crusaders beat every other drum corps in percussion at a DCI Championships event, while the corps placed 13th overall".

    Better? :worthy:

    slightly more accurate.

the corps actually placed 15th overall.

the oakland crusdaers had the highest score within the percusion caption at dci prelims in 1977. not a 'championship' event. a preliminary event leading to a championship event.

  6. If they can perform a perfect (or nearly so) performance that is cleaner than everyone else, than they should get the award. Hopefully the judges will put the politics aside and be honest in their assessment.

Anyone remember when Oakland Crusaders drumline won high drums, but the corps came in 13th?

the oakland crusaders never won high drums. they did not perform at finals in 1977; therefore, they did not win the high percussion award.

  7. Some of them are, but I tried to leave out anything less than a second. In the condensed form, those pauses flash by...

the first two pauses that you included for blue devils you yourself indicated were less than one second in length. you also included a 3 second pause where you assumed there was no movement due to the fact that you could not see the hornline. unless of course they magically disappear from view of the camera and then magically reappear 3 seconds later, some sort of movement most have had something to do with the hornline esacing the view of the all seeing eye.

  8. My point is, the group I was with was literally 20 feet from the front of their block... when you're Friends of DCI or a VIP, you get access to areas others wouldn't. I don't care if you're impressed or not.

And besides, I (or you, or anyone else) can't prove anything other than telling you what we heard and that was that. I've never even watched a YouTube video of last year's America finale... but now that some of you've made me curious, I probably will now.

    Relax man.

i know full well what type of 'access' is granted to those of importance. self proclaimed or otherwise. my point is there was no point in your mentioning of what type of credential you had around your neck. suffice it to say that you claim to have been in front of their block and that you claim to have heard what you heard. a lot of 'others' seem to disagree with you.

  9. No, sorry. I was in front of their block with a VIP/FODCI pass around my neck last year. Nobody can tell me what I heard came from the opposite side of the field. I know what I heard, and that was that. This has NOTHING to do with a YouTube video.

    ummm.

what exactly does the fact that you had a 'VIP/FODCI' pass around your neck have to do with any of this? am i supposed to be impressed or something?

    don't quite understand the significance...
