  1. I heard them all day Saturday from field level in rehearsal and can tell you I heard minimal individual sounds sticking out. I heard much more individualistic sounds and intonation issues with Crusaders last night than I did with BK. As for the talent and controlling the performance I could certainly buy that, yet it's a different caption that was high the night before that drops like a rock the next night. Here's the truth- If you play with a bad sound it's going to sound bad in the stands, that's the honest truth. Perhaps the judge is choosing to stand next to the youngest player and follow him/her around the field, but I heard for myself the quality of sound coming from them in practice in 98 degree temps and I can tell you that the brass score they are receiving right now is HOG WASH!! Sorry, it is. A Music Ensemble judge is taking into account intonation, cleanliness of music, blend, timing etc... If those things are coming through and scoring high but the individual performance captions aren't then that is a discrepency plain and simple. I applaud the corps for the direction they chose as you point out, but I can tell you the staff has to be a little puzzled. One night they are close to our beat Boston/Phantom in a catagory and the next night they're below the Gmen and closer to the Troopers. There's no excuse for that and it is the judges fault! Is BK gonna win a World Title this year? No. Could they end up in 10th this year? yes and they'd be a darn good corps/maybe the best in that placement ever, but I just want them to get a fair shake. Then let the chips rest where they are gonna lie!!

    content dude.

  2. As I stated earlier, the Troopers 3.5 point penalty was assessed for the July 29th Preview of Champions in Ypsilanti, MI, NOT the DCI Championship.

The Troopers were given NO penalty at DCI. The reason they missed making finals was that they only placed in the top 12 in 3 of 8 subcaptions.

Im sure that had NOTHING to do with the final outcome either.........

How about when DCI offered The Troop money to go home, in the middle of the season, that year..............

  3. This incident happened right behind where I was. You can say Cecil was not "attacked", but there was enough "right of a corps to enter the field" thrust upon him to break his eyeglasses, and cut his face.

That was not the lone incident involving the corps from Casper that year. It was unfortunate that the corps had some people marching who shouldn't have been.

    I was there...the entire year.

    I know exactly what happened.

I had a better "view" than anyone else of the whole thing.

Do not assume you know anything....especially if you "heard" about the Troop from that year.

And the exact phrase was "hooliganism and thuggery"

The penalty was the exact amount to keep The Troopers from making FINALS that year.

DCI knew what it was doing.

    It was complete B.S.
