    I thought they have an "audio engineer" this season. An "engineer" would easily be able to tell when the mics are out of phase... Heck, they shouldn't have been put in that position to begin with.

    Couldn't agree with you more. I've been incredibly disappointed with JD's arrangements since he's began writing for SCV.

    Last year's was great IMO, and 2012 was not bad. This year, like I said, it just feels like he's trying to do way too much with the music. And then in moments where there could be an awesome impact, nothing happens...

    Not necessarily. 2004 wasn't that long ago and I still have a beginning of season recording. Bits and pieces of arrangements change but usually not a whole lot.

    I have hope though. I've noticed that JD tends to change the music more than most though. Maybe that's just me.

    Require? No, that would need subsidizing as some corps would not make back the cost that it takes to record/master/sell the tracks in the first place.

    Crown sells studio recordings every year, but I don't know how well they sell (I know many of the members buy them - my 09 CD is one of my most coveted drum corps artifacts). For some reason, I thought BD and Cadets sold some, too, but I could be wrong.

    I know the Cadets had a preseason one out in 2007. The quality was only ok though.

    This is not a normal rehash. This show is a MONSTER. After watching the show, I have SCV as my frontrunner. Their brass seems slightly younger than last year, but wow what a SOUND. Visually, I already felt like Vanguard was top 2 in feet and this year they seem to be on track to be up there again. The drill is also a huge step up! (Especially staging wise! What a change from 2011!)

    I don't want to say anymore because this is SUCH a drastic change from 2013 (in a good way I may add) and nobody will see this coming.

    I'm calling it now. SCV Top 3 if not 1st.

    Man I can't wait until this Saturday... I can't believe I've only heard about a minute of their music so far, and it was only brass.
