I don't know the name of the corps but the tall indian on the left sure looks a lot like Ralph Hardimon.
yeah, and that's Tom Float as a boy in the back.......lol

I was there live. My last year involved in the activity.
I was calling people after semi's saying that I thought Madison had won. I think BD was more refined or smooth. Madison brought loads more excitement and energy.
It was an "EEEEEEElitric" evening, wasn't it? BD still was the RIGHTfull champion of the evening. I do think it's kinda funny ALOT(parking lot?) of you drum corps people don't get that. It just MAY be TIME for you people to go back and take a look and listen for YOURSELVES today. Sure.......Madison was "exciting", but the Concord Blue Devils had the LOVE

Ummm but in 86 we won all captions, maybe not every sub score, but we did take home all the captions and went undefeated last I remember.
86 BD lost their first comp to SCV. Not trying to take away any glory, you guys were bad###, but it was a nearly undefeated season due to that little factoid.

Blue Devils.....boy, having never been out of the top 5 since 1975 that's a toughie....but I'll go with 92, primarily because of the drum line (11th place, I believe)
I'm gonna vote for 87. Sure, the drum line wasn't the best in 92, but atleast the show was cool and the drums did provide a great back beat to When a Man...87's show was just a hodge podge pile of poop.

Did they get a new tenor tech in the mid-late 90's?
John Burbank who came from Float's 93/94 VK lines, aged-out of Cadets in 95 and started teching in 96 to 02.

Tim Root sop 88 BD
Dave Hart snare 87 BD
Sean Vega quad 97 BD
Stan Moore's tenor solo in 05 Cadets.

lmao....priceless.

Musically, I think it's nearly as good as 87, especially percussion.
Thoughts???
I love 88 Garfield.
I think their drumline was actually better in 88 than 87.

that opener, best described as the hornline playing in half time while the battery was pp in double time............. they had a great groove going ensemble-wise....................
That sounds really, really cool.

Float was still with BD in 90(his last year). Tom did VK 92-94.
Anyway, I'm going to be optimistic and say BD will win drums this year. I think everything will be in place for them. Wunderlich and Maughmer were great additions to their staff last year, and I think it will pay off this year. With this being the "50th", you know they'll be out for blood. Good luck BD with "Winged Victory".

2006 was a hell of a lot better than 2005.

Your right, man, I'm not trying to be a hater, it was a special night. Everybody in the stadium was a winner, except for maybe the judges.......lol
