I "think" we were in a circuit with Flint, Maple City Cadets, Franklin Park somethings, Southern Rebels and who else ?

Great photo. I remember watching the Royales perform in 72. We, (the Flint Guardsmen of MI), had done our performance and watched as we waited for retreat. Great corps.
Those are some knee heights! Eatontown NJ Royales (my alma mater!), 1972.

KEVIN AWARD- At a reception backstage at Boston's Colonial Theatre, Sal Mineo was named recipient of the annual "Showman Award" presented by th Saint Kevin Emerald Knights to a personage in the field of entertainment, of which drum corps is so much a part. Previous recipients of this award are Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong, Jimmy Durante, Eddie Hodges (child star of Music Man) and Arthur Fiedler of the Boston Pops. " ENTERTAINER Danny Thomas receives a Paul Revere bowl from Bugle Sargeant Bob Holland of the Majestic Knights of Columbus Drum Corps of Charlestown, Mass., signifying that the well-known comedian is an honorary member of the Knights. Looking on is Rev. Kenneth B. Murphy, famed "Suicide Priest", who is Spiritual Director of the corps."

"LATE PRESIDENT John F. Kennedy is shown accepting an honorary membership award from the Boston Crusaders while on a recent trip to Boston. Presenting the award is Drum Major Joseph Anderson.
