  1. 2 Questions for DCP's here that went to the Cinema to watch on the movie screen the DCI Quarterfinals:

    A) what were they charging for a ticket in your theatre ? and

    b) did the management give you a free movie pass for a free movie after you exited the Cinema at the conclusion of the telecast for the DCI telecast stoppage ?

At the Cinema we attended ( 4 of us ) the cost for the individual ticket was $18.

The Cinema ( Burlington, Ma. ) we attended had the Cinema manager come down the aisles on the delay, explained the reason for the delay, that he expected it to come back on, and told everyone in the theatre that he was appreciative of their patience and would provide all seaters there a free complimentary future movie pass. When the show commenced 10 minutes later and with all of us getting to see the 2 Corps missing on the weather delay, we expected that when we exited the manager would waive the free movie pass. But he stood right at the exits and gave everyone exiting a free future admittance pass to a movie of our choice. When I looked at thefree movie pass, I noticed the expiration date says " 3/31/2014 ", so we can use this free cinema pass for next years DCI Cinema telecast. So.. what did you pay for a ticket, and were they giving out free movie passes at all the other Cinemas. I am just curious.

Usually you can't use FREE passes for the DCI in theaters... My theater was $18, we only lost footage 1/2 way during Bluecoats and pretty much all of SCV, we got NO free passes, but we did get to see Bluecoats and SCV in the entirety at the end :)

  2. While I get where you're coming from, scores are supposed to come from performance in relation to the criteria outlined on the sheets. Pioneer's performance/scores was a known and consistent factor. They've been scored on World Class sheets all season and should have continued an upward trend in scoring just off of pure practice and repetition. Introducting Open Class corps to the mix shouldn't have changed what Pioneer was scoring over the past two weeks.

Just sucks to look at the kids and say... oh yeah, you busted your buns the past two weeks... Better Every Day... but your score went down.

Sure does stink, but what's done is done... can't change it now :(

  3. Spectrum of course!

    Alter Ego

    Trumbull

    Black Watch

    Carmel HS

I'm not judging Onyx until I see it live, their show last year I didnt like as much on video but when I saw it live I lovvvved it!

also really like Artistry In Blue and Passaic HS is doing well this year some tasty stuff out there! :)

  4. so far from SA to SO:

    Spring HS

    Oak Ridge HS

    Claudia Taylor Johnson HS

    Lampeter- Strasburg HS

    Norwalk HS

and I believe Crestview will probably be next

    from IA to IO:

Artistry in BLUE (I really enjoy this show)

    MBI

    Orlando Visual

    Gainesville Independent

    Avidity Independent

    University of Louisiana

that is the list of who has been promoted thus far, I heard Beatrix was promoted from Open to World? did anyone else hear that??... and I do not think WGI will recognize it, the guard I was in was promoted from IA to IO in 2009 by WGI and they never really made a formal announcement, who knows though maybe they will

  5. As someone who was there for both prelims and finals, I am not at all surprised that Fantasia beat Corona. Both had absolutely amazing shows, but Fantasia seemed a step ahead in design. I loved their show. There was one part of Fantasia's show (after the long rifle exchange sequence) that was very reminiscent of Fantasia 2004. For me, Corona's show seemed a bit hard to follow. Conceptually, Blessed Sac is absolutely brilliant., but I prefer the flow and weapon content of Fantasia's show. We'll just have to see where Onyx/SCV/NEi play into this! It's looking to be a very competitive, amazing season! Shame that Pride won't be here this season, but I'm anticipating their return.

my guess is that NEi doesn't show up to WGIs ;-)

  6. I am confused, do all A class participants at regionals make finals??? I looked at the finals schedule for Liverpool and it showed every SA guard makes finals? Yet the WGI handbook says 50% of A class guards make finals.... Why is this?

  7. The score may not have shown it but Fahrenheit was amazing. The old Fahrenheit is back in full force, fun, exciting, great energy, they blew the doors off the gym. Look for Orlando Visual to make finales unless they get promoted and even then look for them in finales. Great show Stephen Porter is really make his mark as a designer, and that leads me to Lyman HS love this show it has great potental thought it should have won this class. Gainsville Ind. was also rocking the house, fun to watch and the boys really got tude, they stole the show. Apopka HS is really polished for the first show, hard work has paid off, the performers were so well trained and the show so well writen, the use of the props was so smooth throughout the show really enjoyed watching these kids. Of course many of the high schools only had partial shows done but the season looks very promising in the FFCC

Who teaches this Orlando Visual group?? They got an 82.2 in January I don't see them staying in A for very long unless their score was really inflated!!
