that they were trish... omgggg still amazed ugh
-
I saw Shen today at Mid-York Colorguard Circuit Championships...
stunning, thats all i can say... they are absolutely stunning... there weapon line is starting to get there #### together!!!! and they posted a 91.8 of course thats local circuit but there was a couple WGI judges there... Lampkin and someone else... i cant get over it... just omg stunning!

I've looked over the world schedules and have gathered the following about the performance order:
Bad Break:
Rancho Cucamonga
Trumbull
Arcadia
Cheshire ( I think going after Flanagan may expose them, but it may work in there favor too. . .I'm going with it works against them)
Croatan
Premonition
Corona
The rest are neither here nor there and should hold their own in their respective slot.
i agree about Trumbull, RC, Arcadia, Croatan and Corona.... ESPECIALLY RC and Trumbull :-(
-
You're top 6 looks exactly like mine. . .
I think Beyer gets in before Trumbull. .
i think Trumbull will still be in finals just probably around the 14th 15th mark... I think Beyer will make it before Warren does...
-
I was supposed to be volunteering up until yesterday when I accepted a job offer and it starts April 7th... :-(
oh well next year i will be there either way!
-
If they would have made the changes to the program for the Trumbull Regional that they are starting to make now (they didn't have a show this weekend), they would have been promoted. That would have been terrible for the organization - to being told they're not good enough for finals the last 2 years to being "too good".
And the point spreads indicate that - if they're winning by that much now adding more depth would have sealed the deal.
Let's just be happy for Alter Ego and wish all the rest of the Independent Open class luck these next few weeks! I am sure Saturday in Dayton is gonna be some contest to see!
GET IT TRISH!!!!! :-)
-
Warren Central in finals? Hmmm...to me that would make it seem as though SW is a little weaker then normal.
ouchhhhh
-

oh come on. . .isn't it more fun to guess?!?!
SO: Lawrence Central and Northmont.
I have seen both groups. . .both would/will be in contention to medal if not be at the top.
Both are also past World Class finalist guards (numerous times). . . personally, I feel that this year both are World Guards disguised at Open Guards. I think WGI really should have promoted Northmont last season and taken into consideration that they returned their entire guard this season.
i had a feeling northmont was one... wasnt sure who the other one was...
-
I know exactly who you are talking about. . . .both of these groups have one HUGE common variable: Tommy Allen
I think this group will be back to WGI, they have a long history of competing and doing well at WGI
what guards are they???
-
CONGRATS TO TRISH AND HER GUARD DELAZURE!!!!!! GET IT 2nd PLACE!!!!!!!
-
Naples is doing fairly decent this year... they seem to improve every week... I think maybe they are a young guard, but they should still be at least a semi finalist this year possibly a finalist... Hinsdale Central HS from Rochester is the one to watch out for this year...
-
My goodness, I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I read that Logan may not be going to China. To think that all of this speculation and curiosity that has been going on all year long would be thrown the biggest curve ball possible.
IMHO I believe that Flanagan could definitely take home one of the medals this year. Every time I see them they just seem to get stronger and stronger. When I'm watching them I forget that they are 14-18 years old. I hope these kids don't stop spinning after high school. I wonder if they all go to Braddock.
im thinking most of them would go to Northeast Independent and maybe some go to the Knights but mostly my bet is NEi
-
Alter Ego's show is NOTHING like Center Grove's show
i agree...
-
yeah remember last year Shen placed 3rd at the Salem regional got beat by both trumbull and cheshire then they stayed out of the WGI scene until the midwest power regional and they complete blew everyone away and almost beat Center Grove.... i think you will see Shen do that again this year... they always start out struggling at points and then when it really matters those ladies come up from behind and do some serious damage....
-
I tihnk Avon Flanagan Center Grove and Miamisburg will be your top 4 and Arcadia Shen and Cheshire rounding out the top 7... I lovvvvve trumbulls flag line... the silent feature or what seemed like one, was incredible at trumbull finals...

Call me the tie breaker if you will BUT.....
Avon - totally innovative, new things, and FRESH to the world class. ABSOLUTELY.
Shen - It was only their FIRST YEAR in the world class. Yes, sometimes they go with a more lyrical piece and spin spin spin... the "formula" as you call it. Why not - they are elegant, talented, classy and that alone makes them "different" in my opinion. BUT even if you disagree that their style is unique.... how can you foget about their WAY out the box shows like Psycho, Origami, and even last year's show with the stage? If you didn't find that innovative - you simply "missed it." It was a build from start to finish through music, staging and equipment. Even I got THAT! And the most OUT THE BOX SHOW ever was that mannequin show from like 3 years ago. What the heck.... 30 foot mannequins flying around the tarp looked like two shows going on from up top. Totally nuts... but they didn't make the final so maybe you missed that show. ??
Whatever. WHether you're Logan, Shen or Flanagan, I don't envy how scrutinized you are once you get to the world class. Can't wait to see you all.
yeah umm there mannequin show was crazy... that was there southern belle show in 2004, i would say thats pretty innovating, i have never seen anyone else using the upper torso of a mannequin on a huge pole and wheels moving around there floor!!!... and i thought there waterfall prop in 2005 that actually spilled color changing water was pretty innovating, from what my friend who was in the guard told me, they needed a physics teacher to figure out the timing of that with there show.... either way I love me some shen!!!... and there doing harry connick jrs. "if i only had a brain" this season!
-
ugh. . .I feel like Shen has fallen into a rut of doing the same show over and over again with the only change being their music and some colors. Don't get me wrong, they are a super talented group, but after a while. . .yawn. I'd like them to step outside the box a little. . .I can remember them doing that quite a bit when they were an IA group. I dug their psycho show!
Another group that has fallen into this rut is Flanagan...and James Logan use that rut, but has since really started morphing themselves and that has been really nice to see!
yeah i know what ya mean, back when they first started competing in Open in 2003 they did a really cool origami show, and in 04 they did a cute lil show it was different and 05 they did the pretty josh groban show and they found there style that works really well for them, and they are sticking to it lol... if they ever did a fast paced show thats not pretty I think I would scratch my head and wonder if its the same shen i am used to...
-
HOLY WOW!!!
looks like NEI will be good this year (no surprise there) as will The Knights...
I was most surprised with A class scores... Colonial HS got an 88.5!!!!!!! ummm wowwww thats usually a score you dont see in A class until around mid march or so... either these scores were just REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY high or the guards are just that #### good in which case I see a promotion to Open for them and possibly a couple others.... can any one confirm if they are that darn good??
