The funny part of this all is.. The "Kids" have already moved on. They are getting ready to do what they have to do tonight and tomorrow. They are not Dwelling on this like the "adults' are with 47 pages of this stuff.
They will be fine I am pretty sure and most likely in the end they will be laughing with a ring.. So lets be like the "kids" and move on..

Sorry, I respectfully disagree with you there(ESPECIALLY, in 2005!) We WERE as good as we thought we were. Some judges agreed, others didn't know what to do with us, and I'm really biting my tongue on this one. Our brass placement in '05 is still a sore subject with me. ^0^
Please why hold back now.. Just say it..
Judges didn't know what to do with you?? What would the Mob have made them disappear if they gave you a good score. :o

I wish Sky the best..
But some of these type posts makes one feel really awkward.
When I read them I feel there is a drive to put guilt on some blame on the other. If I was an alumn of a corps and saw this type of post it would not really want to make me come back but maybe stay away from all the Drama.
I dunno that is just me.
Best of luck again.

Chris, is the poster up yet? I didn't see it there. I can't wait to get one, frame it, and hang it in the new corps....
...that's another press release. lol
about the corps hall in F__ield . is it really a secret since it been talked about.. (went back and looked at the posts about it thanks chris..)
Nice poster for sure..

There's no reason to get all defensive. Nobody is calling anybody a liar that I can see. It's just common sense to verify the facts before one makes up one's mind, usually.
Look, if my own mother called me up and said my boss e-mailed her and told her I was fired, would I just pack up my desk and go? No. I'd want to talk to my boss directly. Not that I think my Mom would lie to me, but (like everyone else) she is human and might put her own spin or perspective on a written statement. I would love to hear from the creators of the new rule proposal, but for whatever reasons (right or wrong) they have not spoken up on this forum. So, we only get one side of the story.
And as posted above, what difference does it make who the guy is or what his background is? He asked a valid question.
Michael
Thanks that is all I was wondering and getting at.
I am a fan of Drum corps Jr and All Age and even Marching bands.. But as some have said if I never marched or have only known Drum corps for 6months etc does that really matter in this instance. :) It's all good..

I think what the other poster was getting at was: is there more in the proposal beyond the initial statement of the proposed bilaw. For instance, a more in depth description, a rationale for the proposal, etc. I mean, I have no idea, but I think that was the question being asked.
Thank you ..

Do you mean to say that isn't the proposal as it is worded? If it isn't then what is the actual wording? Or is this an attempt to cloud the issue?
I don't know how it is worded I have not seen it have you? Has anyone else? Could there be stuff left out? guess only those that have seen it would really know, the rest of us are going on hear say No? What a way to bag on some folks without really knowing and seeing for yourself.

The bylaw reads as follows:
Commencing for the 2008 season: Full Members - The North American all-age corps that finish in the top ten (10) positions at the DCA championship preliminary contest providing they have competed in at least one DCA sanctioned show excluding championship preliminaries and finals shall be full members in a given year. These ten (10) all-age corps will constitute the full (voting) membership for the ensuing year.
Ok sorry I did not mean what Lee posted we have read that. I mean the actual Proposal.. As Written by Creater.

I enjoyed 05 .. 06 just had Tooo much ove the top stuff going on.. So if they do a show that you can Enjoy that is what I am for..
I like when they did Moondance and stuff like that and it was fun.. They can do that again and max it out and get another ring I think..

I see it as a good thing. Letting an upstart corps use the euipment for a year.. this way.. They can save to get thier own.. Maybe Cap will be making some money and then maybe sell it to them and buy their own new ones.. Can't hurt I don't think..

And there in lies the basis that the Corps in the NE are fighting NOT to do in order to maintain control. Allowing DCA to become the Corporate HQ with 4 regions acting automonously and the top 3 Corps acting as the voices for their prospective regions. ANY Corps that wishes can attend and compete in Championships. The way the proposal reads is that the NE Corps are setting the rules and regs for everyone and are trying to take voting away from some long established Corps who have invested much time, money and travel to the coffers of DCA which is regulated by the NE Corps.
Oooo ooo.. You have read the proposal .. is it somewhere we all can read it?

Go to U tube.. pull up BD's Practice from semi's Then you will see how they are "not moving" :)
Also Cadets stopped and played a few times too. I do recall the soprano block etc..
Someone needs to count how many times Cavies had their horns down or Breaks. I am just saying if you want to compare things. :)
I did notice when I looked at how Devils and Cadets march.. I noticed more bounce when Cadets were backing up at quick tempo and The Jazz run was different Devs did not crouch as much as other corps.
