  1. Crown- easier. better executed right now.

Cadets and BD- more difficult. better executed come that special sat. in august.

Crown is going to peak. I think about san antonio-atlanta-ish.

Will they win one of those shows?

    Yes.

    Both.

    Maybe.

And then all the crownies will be shiting themselves and be even more insufferable than they are right now.

They will get beat come finals week and then we'll have to spend the next year hearing from Hrothgar and all the other crownies about how they should have won and they will take themselves to new levels of insufferability.

And I was also thinking about this the other day. DCI needs Crown to win.

I think they understand that the activity got stagnant with only 3 winners and needed some new champions.

Hence your 2008 champion, Phantom Regiment.

DCI needs new blood at the top.

Hence Crown popping an 85 in late june/ early july.

    It helps them sell tickets.

Now, this is not to say 08 Phantom and 09 Crown aren't good. They are. But not champion drum corps in my opinion.

And to echo a previous comment: Drum corps IS really well executed marching band. Always has been (at least since the birth of modern drum corps in the early 80s), always will be.

i agree with all cept the phantom thing lol, not to sound biased, but i think they deserved it, but thats ur opinion i respect it :worthy: but i still think they deserved it :worthy:

  2. whoever is in last place has the most room. will it happen no.

hey, i think pioneer is going surge all the way to finals :worthy::cool:

but in all serious, my vote is phantom to surge late, may be slightly biased :worthy: but they have done it alot in the past years :cool:

i also think bluecoats have a great chance to move up

HNC and cavies both have lots of room to grow too  should be an intense finals night

  3.

I stand corrected and should have clarified "the three USUAL corps of the last 20 years or so..."

Apologies to the awesome 1991 Star of Indiana, 1996 & 2008 Phantom Regiment and the 1989 & 1999 Santa Clara Vanguard.

However, listing the only other winners over the last 20 years OTHER than BD, Cavaliers and Cadets kind of very effectively illustrates my point, don't ya think?

    GO Carolina Crown!!

:worthy: its all good, i forgot to mention star too lol, but thanks for correcting haha :worthy:

  4. Perhaps its because the majority of people who dont like crown are actually biased against crown? Do any of you actually like any of their shows? Most arnt really bised against other corps, its just most people ive ran into that dont like crowns show are actually biased

have u not read peoples post saying, i loved last years show, or really enjoyed 07 or stuff like that? really?

  5. For one, the appeal of a drum corps show is much more universal than one would think. It's hard for me in my mind to account for the discrepancy in that what makes me like the show doesn't make him like the show, or anyone else for that matter. I assume he hasn't really given it a chance, or, more likely, is biased against Crown since he's marched Glassmen before. I on the other hand have no allegiance to or against any particular organization since I haven't marched, but I recognize a quality drum corps show when I see it (something that is a lot more objective than you would think).

u sir r an ### to think ur above someone and tell them who they are and only u know good shows, people can like or dislike a show, doesnt mean they're biased, i havent like any bd's shows since 2005, does that make me biased? i give them the same chance every year and they just dont do it for me. Same with crown, i like the show, i just IMHO dont think it should be as high as the judges and all the crown junkies think it should be. sorry to sound like an ### myself. just saying...

  6. Phantom was at a whole different level of musicianship. They look awesome under lights. Incredible sound from both horns and drums. Terrific brass arrangements and staging. This corps has one of my favorite drum sounds ever, and they really bring it -- tight and clean, yet wonderfully controlled. I don't quite get what the concept of the show is (did I miss the movie?), but the guard performs it really well. Quite a difference in theme from last year, but probably best to do something altogether different. Phantoms drum line trooped the stands. Awesome. Complete class and prfessionalism all the way from this corps. Who cares where they place. This is highly edible stuff! Madison setting up for encore.

great to hear :thumbup: and yes its a film, u should check it out, good movie
