This year we have done our show at 3 DCi shows and 2 DCA shows and next weekend at Rochester. We started music in November and drill on the field mid April.
Changing numbers on the field forced us to reteach over and over to new members.
We've had the entire show on the field for about 3 weeks.

What a fun trip! We all enjoyed the heart clogging burgers and the cool brews at Patricks! I even bought the t shirt. Both show were a great learning experience for our corps and we are looking forward to implementing some of the recommendations the judging panel made. On to Rochester! Can't wait to see all of you great corps people again!

I included all corps listed on dcacorps.org as championship competitors... I believe this will be the Bucs 6th straight championship (simply don't believe anyone can touch them with what content they put into their shows. They may not be as entertaining but they are one sr corps who I believe would make top 12 in World Class DCI finals) Empire I think will flatten out towards the end of the season. Does it seem very weird to anyone else not be including Crusaders or Brigadiers?? On the 'A' side of things, I'd really like to see an increase from 4 corps to 6 in finals due to so many prelim competitors... I think this will be the Grenadiers year to win, and will hopefully help them return to open class in the coming season. Don't know enough about the bottom 4 corps to really make an honest guess..
Good luck to all corps and to all of you marching members at championships!
Hey at least get the name of our corps right! It's High Country Brass

We had a good time 2 years ago in Texas when we traveled for Brass hysteria and would love to have a closer show than Minnesota too! Maybe next year we can get something going out west.

1 -Deg 2 valve contra $200.00
We also have at least 3 matched sets of concert basses and toms available too. Price is negotiable.
Used silver sparkle Premier battery for sale: 5 basses and 6 snares these are used but would be great for a start up group or an alumni corps. Make an offer!
We have also unearthed a fairly large assortment of hard to find and obsolete Premier marching hardware for snares, tenors and basses.
We're running out of storage spaces for all this excess equipment and are willing to make some deals.
Shipping will be an additional charge and price of course depends on where you're located.
Please send me a message for more info.
You can call me as well at 303-434-5668.
Thanks,

Go Jeff Go!
Our efforts at DATR are paying off too we have gained a couple of drummers , a guard member and a horn player who are able to finish out our season with us.
Here is a recruiting tool that we use. We purchase ads on face book that pop up if anyone has marching, drum corps, music etc in their profile. We have gained about 10 people over the last several years by this means.
It is also spreading awareness in the area that we have an all age corps around.
-
Then obviously you need to schedule lots of performances!
We have 2 big DCI shows this weekend so we should pick up a few more folks for the Minnesota and Rochester weekends.
No other shows in the area short of traveling 750 miles to Texas.

We've gotten a couple of baris and 2 more sops and a contra and have a full horn line but now need to fill some battery spot, snare and tenors. One of our veteran contras is leaving after our next show for the rest of the season so back to needing another contra!

DCA only and I waited until I was in my 40's to start marching again . I hadn't marched since high school! Great place to make friends, get a little exercise and blow your chops off!

High Country is marching 20 brass, as of today, 10 guard, 5 battery, and 3 pit, 1 dm.
We keep getting a few new folks after our performances so who knows where we'll be by September.
Why are members fairly easy to find but hard to keep around?
-
High Country is and will be a "G" corps.
We love the in your face sound and power of the G bugle. Besides we would have to have 40 horns playing b flats to match the sound of our 20 plus horn line.

Thanks all! Can't wait to get on the field for real!

Nice turn out at our open house yesterday! We are very glad to see all of the talented people who turned out for the rehearsal!
See you all next week at our new outdoor rehearsal site!
We are still accepting new members for the 2010 season.
We have snare spots open and the baritone section can use a little help too.
Of course we wouldn't mind if you play another instrument or want to join the guard!
See you on the field!
Go to the HCB website for more info on becoming a member now!

WIN $1,000 !!!
Applewood Plumbing and Heating has a program that rewards non profit organizations in Colorado. They will pay $1,000 each month to whichever nonprofit group gets the most online nominations. They are doing this every month this year!
The only thing YOU have to do is go online and nominate YOUR favorite non profit group:
High Country Brass, of course!
So tell all of your friends and family to go online NOW and help us win! This could add a significant boost to our budget and help offset travel, equipment and rehearsal costs.
Please take the time to vote for the Corps!
To do that click here:www.applewoodfixit.com/12in12.html
Applewood Caring Community 12 in 12 Giveaway
Enter our information, as follows:
Non-Profit Name: High Country Brass
Non-Profit Phone: 303-662-0774
Non-Profit URL: http://www.highcountrybrass.org
You may nominate us as many times in a month as you like. So as they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often! This month, next month, the following month,....
Hope you can help out!
