I've posted before about one ticket. Well I had another person drop out of going. So now I have two! I'll accept $70 for both of them. The tickets are at will call, so be the first to email me (below) and I'll meet you there.

NightBEAT, A DCI Tour of Champions Series Event
Sunday, July 31, 2011, 7:00 pm EST at Rock Hill District 3 Stadium, Rock Hill, SC
$40 = 1 Ticket to the first person to email me
It's the tour of champions, people, and I have a ticket. This show is completely SOLD OUT according to the website, so this is a super easy way to make sure you get you face peeled back by the top 8 corps. The tickets are at will call, so just email me your contact info and we'll work out where we'll meet for the exchange. It's a non-negotiable price, but a steal for a show this caliber.

I know this may have already been addressed, but are we gonna have a movie theater broadcast of quarters this year???

Dude......... epic. If I didn't have a boyfriend to drag along, I would totally grab that first one.

Analogy comparable to the 2008 cadets show:
Monet paints a masterpiece. It is beautiful and well crafted. After he's finished, he takes a gigantic dump on it. After this he takes it to a showcase to display and sell it for what he thinks will be a considerable amount of money. Instead of a great reception (similar to any cadets performance), he gets only mixed confused responses as everyone wonders why they weren't given the opportunity to appreciate the real art behind it.

Thank you - best of 987, I too hope 'smashbalance' is not a member of the corps smashing the staff Because all I can say is spring training is going to be a l-o-n-g three weeks. Jus' sayn'
Just so you know, I love and respect the music and visual staff. Considering what a member goes through, I doubt Jim Coates would be around me that much during spring training. Harloff and Ebert are my heroes!
-
Lets keep off of this guy. He has also brought in some of the best brass, visual, percussion and guard people since he took the position in 2003. For every situation that was pointed out in the last post, there are great hires or great decisions he has made with the design staff to get the corps where they are today.
Very true, sir.........very true.

i thought that the title "in.trance.it." was a play on words of 'in transit'...like being in motion, or going somewhere, not being a trance?
It was supposed to mean both... Which I don't think worked out at all. This is why Jim Coates' credibility is questionable in my mind. But that's not the only reason. One time, he really ###### off the corps members by randomly, and very angrily, critiquing them on visual teqniques one rehearsal; which is totally not in his job description. He just gets on a lot of people's nerves throughout the season. that's all. And he has a reputation of putting the corps to sleep during his drawn out speeches......snore...
-
Oh Jim Coates... how amusing he can be...
"So, you guys, have you ever been in a trance? Well I have...": trying to describe the 2006 program to the corps.
-
Well, I don't think i'm gonna get what I'm looking for. I need to know how far up or down his seats are. I guess it'll just be a surprise in August...
-
Yea, but seriously, a seating chart would be nice. I have a friend who paid $125 for his ticket, and I want to make sure that the row in front of him isn't $50 cheaper. Any help here?

Yesss...mmhmm......80 brass....it 'twill be very very very loud...

The chair and platform from SCV 89'
The bullfighters flag from BAC 00'

Having been there in person, I can attest to the fact that there has never been a reaction like that either before or since then, and there most likely never will be until the Regiment wins one ON THEIR OWN!
...OR when Crown wins for the 1st time. Can you even imagine?
-
Um...
Cavaliers: the planets
Cadets: the WWII show
Scouts: The "oh my god, i can't hear the show cause the crowd is flipping a sh#$
Crown: 1st year in finals
...and many more.
the best night ever???
thoughts?

I can definitely speak from experience. I signed up to audition for a top 6 corps in 2007 and chickened out of coming to the first camp...after I had sent in my audition fee. Then, I thought I had no chance of marching at all, so I never went to a camp. That summer SUCKED. I went to shows, heared scores, and watched live webfeeds in pain. This year, I went back to that corps, and have been clinging on for my life since the first camp. I still am behind the curve, but, unless something dumb happens I should be on the field at finals this year. I even went to a lower corps for a backup after the third camp just to be safe, which of course helped me out a lot at the next camp for the corps I really wanted to be in. All I gotta say is...NEVER GIVE UP.

Perhaps I should clarify. There are many types of show designs in which I am interested, and then there are many in which I am not. At the current point the 2008 Bluecoats show falls into the latter category. It's like soccer; I am not interested in it, and choose not to view. And like the show designs in which I am not interested, I have tried to enjoy soccer in the past, but did not. Got that, Butch?
Maybe you can make Butch, as well as all of us, happy by admitting that you can't make a call like this before the show is performed....

So......we won't LET drum corps tours die. Is that what we're thinking? More solutions people, come on!

Now this may sound off the wall, but seriously... all corps buses and trucks are diesel, right? Now, unlike ethanol based gasolines, BIOdiesel is a direct replacement with no adverse (read: power loss or gunk) effects on the engine. The best part? You can make your own. It takes time... a lot of time to make not a lot, but seriously, you could conceivably make enough in the off season to run a bus all summer... :worthy:
Or maybe I'm just crazy.
Yea. I like that idea. Maybe DCI/individual corps could do a HUGE used veg-oil fund raiser every year and get THOUSANDS of restaurants to donate. That'd be ballin.
