  1. your profile doesnt say where you marched or where you live, do you have a good alum corps nearby?

Sorry, I updated the profile. I've actually been looking at Kilties. I started looking into it last fall, but decided I wasn't able to commit the time yet. I think I should probably get involved soon and have the kids be mascots!! Just for history sake, I've spent a lot of time around the Scouts, but only marched with my High School marching band (Oregon, WI).

Thanks for the replies, this was very helpful! Great pics Stoli!

  2. Thanks for all the insight! I wasn't quite sure what to think for age. I also wasn't sure when would be good for the teaching. As John S alluded to, when can they start to grasp what they're being taught. Anyway, I've got a few years left to wait. Until then, the three of us can enjoy going to shows and seeing all the great performers.

  3. Hello DCP!

I'm new here, but I've been around Drum Corps my entire life. My father and uncle marched with the Scouts and though I auditioned I didn't make it in. I did march with my High School Band and we did well, but it is band.

I love drum corps and I do get a little fanatical over it too! I'm sure you can all relate! I hope to join an all age corps sometime soon as I would really like to enjoy the experience of marching again. Hopefully that will happen soon.

    So hello!

  4. I'm itching to march again and have interest in a certain DCA corps - I have for a while.

My kids are aged 3 and 1 right now and I'd like to get back in when they can march but I've been wondering when the best time would be to get them started. They both already have an interest in the activity, my son had a wonderful time at Drums on Parade this year. Obviously, 3 is too young, but what would be your advice for starting?

    Thanks for the input!!
