  1. I have 3 nights in San Antonio (Thur 19th -Sat 21st) at the Staybridge Suites.  Great for family catching up to their DCI member on July 21st.  I'm only asking $500, and upon payment, will add your name to reservation.  I just found out I can't make it.  It was a reservation I payed in advance.  Staybridge is right there at the edge of the parking lot at the Alamo Dome.  It's also right there on way to downtown/Riverwalk area!

  2. I guess I'll find out the scored for Cadets and Devils in the morning. I have to go to bed so I can go watch Tiger and Scott Verplank tomorrow. :)

Verplanking? Is that what they call it now? I knew things were wierd out in California.

...at least you get to watch.

  3. When I tried to start this discussion I was asking about BK without mentioning them, and some assumed I was starting up a Cavie bashing thread. But, I don't see the similarity in style...I will have to look closer. I have always thought that the look of the cavaliers marching style was masculine and forceful to the point of even being a little choppy at times. The tempo is so solid. I think I like Crown and Cadets better, but Cavies don't give me concern like BK does.

  4. For me, it is that I haven't spent time reading these boards, so I don't know how to ask a question without it sounding like bashing....or that I'm asking for bashing.

As a director (band, not corps) I still look at these issues in terms of my responsibilities to the members. What I wanted to ask was if anyone else noticed that the Blue Knights or most of them (brass and battery) have some heighth to their step which makes it look like prancing, and they have a jerky step off. And I put myself in a members position, and thought No- I would not want to march with that corps because I would feel uncomfortable marching that way. I know it sounds homophobic. I would like to hear some discussion especially from former marchers, and were they ever asked to perform in a way that made them uncomfy.
