  1. Chromium Winter Guard, presented by The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, is seeking young men age 16-22 for an all-male Independent A guard.

We are based in Chicago and rehearse very close to the Indiana border. We are looking for young men who have spun before (even in the back yard) as well as wind players, drummers, dancers, gymnasts or other non-guard members who would like to take their performance ability to the next level or try spinning for the first time. Dues are very reasonable. Rehearsals are only on the weekend and will be structured to make it easier for members who travel from further away.

Take a chance! You’ll be glad you did. If interested write to Chromium@cavaliers.org. This is a great opportunity, especially if you are looking to build up experience to audition for the Cavaliers.

  2. Hi,

Just curious ... What's the interest?

The winter guard I teach used them before we went to Kings. I may be able to track them down.

    Tony

It's totally stupid, but I just wanted to see how they spin. I have a King now that I love. I was looking through old pictures of drum corps and winterguard and noticed the really weird hilt and just wanted to see what it would be like to spin them (unless I'm confusing Forte sabres for a different kind - are they the ones with a "lip" on the hilt?)

  3. Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any old model sabres..I'm especially interested in Forte sabres (which I think were very common until the early 90's). I remember seeing them advertised in WGI and DCI publications in at least 1994, but ever since, I've heard absolutely nothing about them. Anybody have one lying about?

    Thanks in advance!
