  1. First time going to a DCI show.

Beginning corps didn't have electronics, later corps did.

Phantom guard left after opener. Bluecoats guard performed sans uniform.

Liked some corps, others left me very bleu.

BD has the most god awful show I've ever seen out of a potential champion. Some day they'll be a drum corps again. And march. And play. And march and play.

I respectfully disagree about the BD show. I think it's brilliant. The listening responsibilities are incredibly difficult. I totally understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea though.

  5. Holly,

Fusion is OUTSTANDING!!!! You have no idea how impressive your Victory Concert was --- with NO HATS. We saw the passion. YOU have an amazing 25 years ahead of you!

    Also,

Let me get this straight : David Bruni is "Gorgeous" and you want Mellophone Soloist Jimmy Steele's Autograph.

That is SO kind of you - those two really need any little boost to their self confidence they can get. Maybe now they'll come out of their shells.

Tommy!!!!!! After reading this I now HAVE to have YOUR autograph.....OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I totally agree. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN Genevieve!!! You are truly and amazing player!!!

Brigs - GENEVIEVE!!!!!!!!!! Finally getting the recognition she DESERVES won the show(wo)manship award once again bringing tears to my eyes in "First time". The show has the greatest improvement of all the shows I've seen this season. It finally became the show I knew it could become last night. FANTASTIC!

Thanks for the excellent review. And you are correct: Genevieve finally received the recognition she has deserved since the first time she played "First Time." It has always been almost impossible to hear her play that solo without getting at least a little misty-eyed...even at rehearsal!!! Bravo, Genevieve!!!!

  7. The TOTO IV album was a bag..... it had a lot of front to back phasing, and the charts were easy, hokey, and cheesey. The Grammy voters who handed it to them on silver platter all worked band camps with members of TOTO the week before the Grammys.

It's crap like that that made Ambrosia fold, and Christopher Cross could never get back into the old boy network. The whole soft-core, please don't take my lunch money, pop-rock activity hasn't been the same since.

BWAHHHHHH HAAA you are killing me? You comin to DCA's?

  8. Because Mark Chambers beat out Dr. John Villella of West Chester University for the purchase of the Crossmen during auction. This is insider stuff I'm telling you, by the way. In fact, Dr. Villella and George Hopkins were so sure that the Crossmen business had been concluded, they were finishing up the paperwork. Then, out of nowhere, Mark Chambers swooped in and outbid him. The rest is history.

    Wow...this is very interesting
