2008 - Saw it live early in the season, I was amazed. I just wish I could have seen it live at the end of the season.
2006 - I said they would never top this show....I was wrong.
2003 - Musically, one of my favorite shows of all time.
2005 - Different from your other Phantom shows, but I loved it, and have a lot of fun watching this one.
2007 - I was a little let down at first by this show, but then it grew on me by the end of the season.
2001 - Good musical selections.
2004 - This show got stuck between two amazing shows with 03 and 05, this one just didn't do it for me as much.
2002 - Good show, just not among my favorite.
2000 - I don't really remember too much about this show.

I listened to Crossmen 1990 for the first time a few months ago, and it quickly became one of my favorite Crossmen shows.
-
If they moved it the west coast, would it re-inflate?
Haha, maybe they should try it, you never know.

I was coming into this thread thinking the Bluecoats were getting their kick-### powder/baby blue uniforms from the early 90's back lol
While disappointing that the Bluecoats aren't getting their uniforms back, WOOOOHOOOO KINGSMEN!!!
The early 90's Bluecoats uniform is the first thing that came to my mind too....except I don't really like those uniforms lol

I'm kinda sad to see the dome go. I marched in there for six years. But I'm excited to see Lucas Oil Stadium later this year.

I hated it a first...then I kinda liked it...but I still like the old music better.

I listen to at least one or two shows a day usually. Some days I'll open my drum corps playlist on itunes and set it to shuffle and listen for a while. On long trips I'll listen to drum corps in the car (it makes long trips go by much faster). For the most part, it just depends on what my mood is though.

I still think Blue Devils were the best overall corps of the season, but Phantom out did them on the night that counted the most.
Why all the hate from both sides?
BOTH WERE GREAT SHOWS!
I agree...and for the first time in a while, I actually REALLY liked both of the top two shows a lot. Congratulations to both of them for a great season!

I've been waiting to hear something, I haven't heard anything official yet. All I know is I really hope to see them back on the field in 2009.

I remember this day very vividy...My freshman year of high school, I was sitting in earth science. Another teacher came running into the room and whispered something to our teacher. I'll never forget the look of fright and horror on his face as he went over to turn on the tv. We couldn't believe what we were watching. We just sat there watching as the planes hit the towers, and as the towers fell. No one said a word. We just sat and stared in disbelief. The rest of the day seemed almost like a bad dream that I kept waiting to wake up from. We even had marching band practice after school that day, and it was very hard for anyone to fully focus on the rehearsal knowing what had happened. Its hard to believe that it has been seven years.

I had to go watch this show on the fan network. It's definitely my favorite Boston show, probably in my top 15 all time favorites.
-
If I had to pick just one show....I'd have to go with.....Cadets 2000.

Crown '04: singing the music from Rent and then the horn line bailing out at the best part of Bohemian Rhapsody. They had a great hornline otherwise.
This part of the show doesn't seem to be too popular among many people. I actually didn't mind the singing, and loved Bohemian Rhapsody....well, I loved this whole show really

Just what this board needs, yet another cadets narration thread.....but I'll go ahead and answer the question, I felt the entire top 7 was amazing this year, even more so than last year. I think even without the narration they still would have placed 5th the top four was just too strong. I don't think narration affects the score and placement as much as people think. I mean, they had a lot of narration last year, but still ended up second, almost first place in semifinals.

I enjoy the 1996 show, but I can't help but feel that it wouldn't be as hyped as it is today if it hadn't have won their first championship. Either way, it is still a very good show, but I'm just not able to get as into it as I can a few of their other shows. I would have to go with 2008 as my favorite championship show.

My favorite look for them in recent years was 2005. I loved that uniform and thought it was perfect. 2006 wasn't bad, though a lot of people didn't like it. I wasn't really a fan at all of the 2007 uniform. As for this year, I think its a big improvement over the last two years. I personally liked the dark pants, and I hope they keep these uniforms next year.
-
If I'm understanding the question correctly, 1989 is not one of the years. While first and second place were a record score to date, a few of the lower positions did not set a record.
-
I've loved every show they've put out since 2003. They're one of those corps that perform very well while doing a very fan-friendly show that many people can love. I hope they continue putting out entertaining, fun shows in the future and continue to be as successful as they have been the past few years. Here's hoping to see them in the top 3 in the near future.

Finals 2008. Bloo take the field, guy behind me says "I love Bloo this year, they gonna throw it down." At the end of the show "That was awesome". Cadets take the field, same guy says "This show sucks, I'm off for some nachos. I HATE narration". Hmmm...
I never quite understood how people could bash the cadets all season (well, the last few seasons) for using narration, but then when another corps uses it, they stand up and cheer like crazy for it....but I enjoyed both Cadets and Bluecoats this year, thought both groups did very well.
-
I think the dark pants look fine, but white pants would look good too. Either way, I love these uniforms and hope they keep them for a while.
-
I never was a big fan of 1995 Madison Scouts (I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few lol)....but the first two that come to mind is 2000 SCV and 2003 PR.

Crossmen 2006 -- 10 pages so far and everyone has ripped apart the use of narration and no one (unless I missed a reference) has yet to cite 2006 Crossmen, which was a total disaster. The show design was straight from BOA, the narration was the most amateurish of any use of narration thus far, and the design and flow of the show was less like Changing Lanes and more like a Train Wreck. On a great note -- They’ve come a long way since then.
I actually love this show. I thought that the concept was cool, and the narration went perfectly with the show and it actually made sense. This is probably one of my most watched show outside the top 12 in recent years.

I would have to go with Crossmen and Bluecoats. I'm really hoping Crossmen can make it back to finals soon (so close this year!), and I'd like to see Bluecoats continue to move up (along with Carolina Crown).
2008 Season Uniform Changes

1. Madison Scouts. I loved the 2005 uniforms. I liked the 2006 uniforms ok. I hated the 2007 uniforms. I was very happy to see the uniforms they chose for 2008. I thought it looked very good on the field and also close up. I might have gone with a little different shade of green, but I still loved the uniform.
2. Santa Clara Vanguard. They were ok. I didn't really love them or hate them.
3. Blue Knights. I never was a fan of the dots, but it was kind of cool that they brought something from the past back. I never saw it live, but I can't imagine that they showed up very well from a distance.
4. Blue Stars. I'm glad they chose white pants. I really like the uniform they have right now. I didn't mind the shakos, it just looked really different at first., but they grew on me.
5. Crossmen. Not bad, but I felt they needed a little bit of red in there somewhere.
6. Phantom Regiment. I was slightly disappointed in the light blue of last year, so I was really hoping that they went with something really cool this year. I wasn't disappointed and I really loved what they did, went perfect with their show.
7. Blue Devils - I really liked the white plumes. I didn't really see the skirts, so I'll have to wait till I get the dvd's to decide on this one. But I really liked the white plumes and the white trim on the uniform.
