  2. Basement Brass is pretty cool for sure.

Little Big (Moe) here. Donny, you're very kind. It was once written about somebody who went beyond pretty cool to VERY COOL, Miles Davis...

Davis understood that the space between the notes was sometimes just as important as the notes themselves. But he also understood that too much space between the notes, and people would think that the concert was over and go home...

—Genius Guide to Jazz, July 2001

Here's hoping everybody in the show gets the space between the notes just right!... and, you had to figure this was coming, we get it just a little bit more "righter" than the rest

From one of the Moes (Little Big) - thanks for the sentiment Paul. But, according to the Rochester Tourism folks, it's the...

"people and places that live up to their top rankings for friendliness, family fun and memorable getaways. Famous sites blend with charming neighborhoods and historic canal towns to create a mosaic of attractions to visit. Cruise, bike or hike, on the original Erie Canal path while visiting great restaurants, shops and quaint villages along the way. You'll soon discover why we think Rochester is made for Living...for a weekend or a lifetime" - or...

The Greatest I&E Show In the World!

  4. Hello all,

In the interest of getting information out more quickly, here's an event "Heads-Up" for an issue we had today.

For the first 80 minutes of the show today, we had a situation where some people on the Eastern coastal areas (generally) and without exception in the EDT zone, were not able to see the live stream. This outage was based upon an Akamai network connectivity problem.

Our solution was to activate our secondary stream, and notify users to move to the second stream. We did this after finding the geography of the accounts not working, and ensuring this was not a DCIFN code issue. This appears to have worked well worldwide. We are going to continue the second stream throughout, and we will assess whether the primary or backup is most appropriate for DVR playback after the show ends. (No lower-thirds on backup.)

This issue was not based upon any setting or process we had here, and was not reproducible on site. It also was not testable, nor was it forecastable. In theory, this is an issue which should be corrected at the network (internet backbone) level, and was not. We will continue to monitor the situation, but at this time all viewers are able to watch the stream, as expected, live or at any point on the stream.

If you are having SPECIFIC user account issues, please check in with the live chat team. If you are initially affected, please try the Minneapolis2 feed.

Thanks... where on DCI.org can I see a link for the minneapolis2 feed or chat with a member of the team? Found the live chat link and that doesn't work.

  5. The BFDTV cameras will be there to capture the excitement and fun!

Anybody interested in an "instant" DVD of your INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE see us at the show - or send a note to us at BFDTV@comcast.net prior to the show so we can make sure we have you covered. The cost is $10 per DVD.

BFDTV will also be capturing the induction ceremony's speeches and activities for a DVD to be produced and made available as a souvenir of the night. Look for more information at the show.

    See you all there!

  6. This is the first time since 1995 that we haven't been able to attend DCA weekend... Usually about this time the scores have been posted on DCA's web site - Nada... I have several friends who competed, my former two corps RI Matadors and Generations had ensembles - love the mini corps but I want to know how my friends fared...

Knowing how your friends in The Matadors did is good. <video link removed - Please see media policy>

  7. I thought I could go, I wanted to go, turns out no. Two pairs of tix for sale for DCI East. Same set of seats for both nights, next to each other, great seats - sec H - row 32
