    I want to thank you for the tip. I emailed Ron and within the hour he got back to me. He happened to have 2 of the Magnum carriers that he is willing to refurbish for me!

    My 17 year old daughter was left in Indianapolis after finals, at around midnight, and told to find her own way back to the housing site! I am just absolutely appalled at this, and to make matters worse, I have not received a call back from the director or anyone at the Corps, after I left multiple messages. I spoke to the Assistant Director that night, as my child was in a $50 cab ride at 12:30, and he made no attempt to apologize, and blamed her for being late to get back to the bus. Instead of worrying about the missing child and attempting to reach her, he decided to just have the buses leave. Has this happened to anyone else? Are our children actually safe on tour?

    Its rare but people do dumb things.Fortunetly for the Corps you didn't filed Child endangerment charges and instructional staff members could have lost their clearences.One bus or another vehicle should have been left behind.

    Drum and Baton Corps

    Sadly Chuck all the groups you mentioned no longer have a percusion element.Most go out with a van and a PA system now.I have not seen a drum and baton group in 3 years.The last ones we saw were the Legionettes in Port Vue and Butler Sparks.I bought the remnants of Renosonce and Rainbow Connection years ago.

    Shenandoah Sound has made the switch to B-flat instruments and need to sell off our G horns.

    we have the following 2 valve horns (subject to sale elsewhere)...

    6 sopranos, 6 mellos, 7 baris, two flugel horns, and two working Contras (plus 2 contras in severe need of repair)

    June 16th - DuBois, PA - SDCA contest

    I want to thank the Fire Dept. and people of Dubois for sponsoring a great day of drum corps. The refreshments and pizza backstage after the show was really nice. Steel City Ambassadors had a blast! The crowd was appreciative during the show and the parade that followed. We couldn't ask for a better day. Thanks also to Tom Corso and SDCA for making it happen. The SDCA concept works and made for an entertaining show. I enjoyed the opportunity to see the other excellent corps that we normally don't get to see.

    I was a great first start,let keep it going and growing!

    In reviewing the tentative DCA schedule, it's apparent that we have to have a circuit that resembles the RCA or NY-Penn circuits of the past. PA, Ohio, Western NY, and Canada. SDCA is doing just that and I will support it. They are expanding into many regions. My questions are:

    1. Are all SDCA shows indoor? Is there any reason it couldn't have traditional outdoor shows in the summer, down the road?

    2. Not a question but there are 2 or 3 corps in Pittsburgh, 2 in Dunkirk, 1 in Erie, 2 in Rochester, That's a show. There are many more that SDCA is in contact with. My point is that there many corps that could do this if they so choose, Not to mention the Canadian Alumni corps that would make an awesome show. Drill wouldn't have to be jazz running, just some movement for staging and visual interest, parade or concert formation if they like. Judging could be more music oriented or not judged at all. Have a crowd favorite chosen by applause. i've seen this in Buffalo.

    3. I just think that with the economics of traveling, a regional circuit makes more sense for us. Seems like that is what east coast DCA corps are doing. Corps that travel great distances do that because they have to. They have no alternative if they want to compete. My point is that don't think too small. I wish SDCA the best and fully support them, for all of our benefit.

    There's no rule against an outdoor or field show.Staging an indoor show may not be as effective outdoors,since indoor elements are more up close to the audience.The show we're hoping happens by one of our HS would be outside,but also have a gym availible if weather threatens.I would like the option of at least a 2 judge panel.One could do T&P and visual and a music judge.Critical feedback is always helpful.I'm looking forward to the regional format.Plus we go from the indoor guard show exhibition season to a spring/summer season.

    Just for craps and giggles I enter my name in google once in a while to see what comes up..

    This morning Lo and Behold (LOL)..... zoominfo.com sez I'm a board member of the Erie Thunderbirds :tongue: Hades, it's the first google link after I enter my last name "+thunderbirds".

    Is this a consolation prize for not winning any of the raffles?

    Aren't Board members supposed to make financial contributions to the organization?
