  1. Thanks for the link; but wow are they expensive ($3.99/ea or $19.99/top 12). Most Mp3s are $.99 each. Also, many top twelve corps shows are not available (for example Troopers 1984 is not available, as well as many others).

Even for the recent years that have CDs available, the prices don't make much sense. The 2003 CDs with the top 21 are on dci.org for $15 + shipping. On the fan network, it's almost the same price ($15.99), but you miss out on corps #13-21. Why don't they include the rest of them? (and maybe even some Div 2/3?)

In response to the original poster, I'd love to see Drum Corps on Pandora too, but I have to agree with some of the other posters that it's probably not financially viable when it will cut into the sales of the CDs and APDs.

  2. Thank you very much for getting these ready and uploaded. My bundle almost done downloading, and I can't wait to get home and listen to them on real speakers instead of my tinny-sounding laptop ones here at work.

Does anyone know if there are plans to release more of the older recordings from the DCI archives? Many of the CDs from recent years have the top 21, so if licensing allows, it should be very easy to rip and add them to the top 12 that are already on the site for those years.

Ideally, I'd even love to see some of the Div 2/3 recordings available for download. I realize that the number of listeners wanting to listen to these groups isn't nearly as large, but an affordable bundle would definitely be purchased by people like myself that can't ever have too much drum corps in their life.

Once again, thank you very much for the great recordings drumcat.

  3. Also any rehearsal sites would be great as well.

    Donny

Rehearsal sites (as well as approx arrival/departure times) are listed at http://www.leregiment.org/index.php/competitions.

How are the ticket sales? If I am able to fly out there the day of the show,(from Madison, WI) would there still be tickets?

I'm not directly involved with the ticket sales, but I'd call 814-456-5300 and have them held through will call. The top couple ticket brackets are already sold out on dci.org, but Ray still has some at the office that had been blocked off for local sales.

  4. I just uploaded some photos from last night, so enjoy.

From a photography standpoint, I didn't like the staging for a lot of the groups last night. Many of the features and solos (guard/perc/etc) were partially hidden by the front panels, hornline plumes, etc. I expect that when I'm standing on the front sideline, but my seat in the front of the bleachers was probably 15-20 feet from the ground.

  5. Just thought I'd share a link to some of my pics from this year (and the two before that). I took almost 5 GB of pics at this year's show, so it's taking me a while to get them sorted, but the first 8 corps (pre-intermission) are now posted at http://tonybaker.net/pictures.

I'll try to get some more up tonight, but the quarterfinals show in the theater will probably take priority. Open class pictures from Erie's show last week should be coming soon too.

  6. I was just wondering if anyone had a comprehensive list of Open Class housing sites in/near Michigan City. Most of the websites don't list them, but I'll add to this list as people post.

  7. All corps are being housed within nine miles of the stadium.

All housing sites have been set since last July.

All corps will have grass rehearsal fields and additional fields are being provided at City parks in case any corps wants additional space.

Does anyone have a list of where the various corps are being housed, or where their practice fields will be at (if not at the housing site)? I might go early to try to watch some rehearsals.
