Ahhhh...got us again! SS was kicking it too. Watch out Triglav were coming at you next season!!
You can add MN Madness to that list. We are gunning for you!! We WILL defend our Brass and Guard titles this season. Lets just hope our GE is just a little better than this past season. Overall though, the crowd dug us and that is all that matters but we do want that Championship!
Congrats though to TRIGLAV and their corps on a job well done. But remember, we here at MN Madness gave you your only loss this season ;)
-
Look, MNM wins EVERY caption except one but yet still finishes in last place!! Wow, our GE scores are horrible. This has been a very fun but yet very frustrating season for us here at MNM!! At least our hornline, visual, and music are all undefeated!! :) We are closing the gap. Hopefully we can medal at finals this year
-
yeah GE is rated pretty heavily!
I should know this since I march in a DCA corps!!
-
MN Madness seems to struggle in the GE area....here are the GE scores from last two shows just to show the difference
TEMPE GE Vis 1 GE Vis 2 GE Mus 1 GE Mus 2 total
Soul of Georgia 19 18.2 18.9 18.9 37.5
Imperial Marching B 18.5 19.1 19.6 17.3 37.25
MN Madness 19.5 16.4 14.3 16.1 33.15
CINCINNATI
Triglav 19.2 19.1 18.5 16.1 36.45
Rctic Regiment 18.3 17.4 19.4 19.4 37.25
Southern Star 16.6 18.2 18.5 18.9 36.1
HOLY CRAP!!!!! If the corps were just 2 points better..we would be undefeated this season!! Oh man!! This is horrible
-
And has anyone else noticed that MN Madness seems to win a huge number of caption awards, but never a competition? Just a random observation.
Oh trust me, we here at MN Madness are wondering the same thing? TRIGLAV wins the same captions as we do but yet we win bronze and they win the Gold by over 2 points!! I just have a feeling that our GE Visual is just not as good as the others but I could be wrong!!! We love winning the captions and it gives those certain sections that win those captions awards more confidence but overall, we want to win more shows!!!

Guard is on fire now!!! Percussion is throwing down beats like none other! Hope we can clean our show before finals to sneak into top 3 consideration

I have a Facebook, and I'd like to see that video myself. Is there a fanpage/group page you will be putting it on?
No, I will just upload it to my wall or my own page! Find me on facebook: Chris Reid in Minneapolis/St.Paul
-
I'd like to see that video. My son would too. He didn't march last year because of an accident and I know he is so looking forward to this coming year.
Do you both have facebook? If so, I will put it up there, if not, I can try to send it to you via email if you want. Let me know!
-
I must admit--I was right up front and after Semi's when the director attacked the drummajor with a big ol hug because you knew they put it all out there---I cried--and yeah when they came on finals night and made the announcement with their return to finals and we all stood--i cried again to see those kids reaction! Funny thing is I am nto even biased!!! LOL I have always been luke warm to them--but what a great way to return!
I got video of that as well! I will have to upload that to facebook! That was an awesome show they put on and I, too, stood and almost had tears in my eyes once they entered the field! I am stoaked for this year to start and for DCI Minneapolis. If any of you are going to that, let me know. Maybe meet up at a bar near the stadium!!!
-
I'll be there watching my son age out hopefully on Saturday night with the Troop!
I loved watching Troop on finals night in the Lot!! You could just see the passion those kids had! I have it on my camera/computer of a lick they played right before they left for the stadium. Amazing! I will be staying downtown Indy for finals. I think we will be there sometime on Friday morning.

We thank you for flying us up to Canada for the show and don't worry, the staff enjoyed the booze on the flight as did the 21+ kids. That might have had an impact on our show but we still had fun. I think the drummers drank too much because this is the first show they didn't win percussion. Hornline is still on fire and guard had an awesome show. The booze started to kick in at the end of the show because the corps was just dirty!! But again, we "wowed" the fans and that is all that matters to us!!

This morning CLASS President Gary Currier flew from Montreal QU to Philadelphia PA for a very special news conference. We join LIVE:
Currier "CLASS is pleased to announce MN Madness and MN Madness Senior Corps are joining our organization of high quality corps! MN Madness cracked the top 12 in their very first season and have been very close to the top 12 ever since. The organization looks to join CLASS to help them boost up that one last level and keep top 12 status, while also going after a championship trophy! CLASS is not just about corps who have achieved the title, but corps who are going after it and look to be the future of DCPI! MN Madness is just one of those corps! Currently the corps is having a very solid season. After having been just edged out of finals last year, they appear to be solid to returning to the top twelve this season! Membership into CLASS is immediate and all CLASS corps will be doing their best to help assist MN Madness in their goals!
Welcome to the family MN Madness! LETS GO!!!"
With that Currier shook Christopher Reid's hand as well as that of MN Madness Drummajor. Also joining them on stage were Velour Knights director Bill Price who was quoted as saying "Glad to welcome yet another CLASS act drum corps into the CLASS family"
We hear at MN Madness thank you for the acceptance into the CLASS family. This is something we have been discussing for quite sometime now and the Board of Regents finally passed the notion to sign up for and apply for the CLASS Family. The corps is excited to be apart of a CLASS act of corps and is excited at continuing the great tradition already set in stone by the corps ahead of us! The future is bright for this great organization and we are proud to say we are a member of the CLASS Family. Lets hope this great news helps out the corps mentality to push strong to the finish and make top 12 and soon bring home another championship to the CLASS organization. Thank you!!! And as the corps screams before every show: LETS DO THIS THE MN MADNESS WAY!!!

I know I plan on attending finals this upcoming season with the gf. I'd love to actually meet some of the people I compete against every year in this little league we call Fantasy Drum Corps
-
How does one become apart of these little alliances? We here at MN Madness have very inquiring minds
-
Any idea on when CLASS Scores will be up from this past weekend DCA Shows?
-
Can anybody tell me why I would have a 0.25 penalty from last nights show? We here at MN Madness are some what upset about this because it was not explained to us!
-
We are trying to figure out how we won 95% of the caption awards but yet still lose the show by over a point!!! Wow! congrats to the winners!!!
-
The seniors of MN Madness are very happy with our first show of the season and getting the gold. Off season rehearsing has paid off. We debuted our program, Tribute to the Madison Scouts of the 90's. MN Madness is all about the hot latin, jazzy style music in yoru face but with a twist. The hornline and drumline were smoking for the first show and we could not be any more proud of them.
Good luck this season to the rest of the corps
-
I think, if I remember correctly, doesn't the All Age Activity only allow 128 for a full corps? If not, then I know Minnesota Madness Sr will have a bigger corps than we have now! We have some more horns that are in the waiting
-
Let's just say numbers were considerably higher in EVERY section since I, or the staff can remember. Overall a great weekend, and it's looks like a promising start from Milwaukee
Good! As an Alumn of the corps, it's nice to hear great news about numbers being high, morale being high, and the show being BAD A@@

The best attended camp in the years since the Div. 2 dynasty is in the books. Pioneer camp is over with a lot of energy about the commitments made and contracts handed out. The brass line was playing through a major portion of ther 2010 book with considerable proficiency. Because of some college exam schedules we were missing some veteran performers from last year, and still had a great turnout in brass and percussion.
Donny
What were the numbers like at camp in each section? I am glad to hear that camp went well! Good to see Pio get the numbers they need to put out an amazing product on the field. Best of luck in 2010 Pio!!

I would love to meet you all sometime in Indy that week. I know me and my gf will be down on Friday morning sometime of finals week. We are staying at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel. We got a pretty good deal for the 2 nights so couldn't pass that up!
I am also going to the DCI Minneapolis show for free. I love working at the show site so I get keys to where ever I want to sit! :) Love it!
