For those of you who wanted a link.
Unfortunately it's gone now but thanks for posting the link. For the first time in years I was unable to attend the preview and may not be able to attend a live show this year. I got several views of this in before it was taken down.

In no particular order: Mandarins, Bluecoats, SCV, Crossmen, Troopers, Crown, Blue Devils. I will say this that it's been a long time for me to say BD is one of my favorite shows.

bumping... no one puts Crown on page 2.

This is sold.

I am really impressed with the Crossmen's show this year. Definitely one of my favorites.

I have a ticket available for Nightbeat - Crown's home show on Sunday, July 21st at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Section 6, Row HH.
Paid $50 plus fees for the ticket. Best offer considered. Really it's not about money, just hoping someone can use the ticket.
Message me if interested.

So anyone interested in going to Nightbeat in Winston-Salem?
I bought my tickets back in March hoping I could get someone from Charlotte to come up to Winston-Salem with me but have not had any luck so I am putting it out here for anyone interested. The seat is in section 6, row HH, 2nd from aisle between 40 and 45 yard line (from what I can see on the seating chart). It appears to be a chair back seat.
Let me know if you're interested. I'm not really looking to get reimbursed for the ticket. I am just hoping someone who appreciates drum corps can use it.Also, if you appreciate craft beer, I will be up in W-S early that day exploring the craft beer scene so you're welcome to join me.

22 days,4 hrs & some change 'til NightBEAT.
The buffet is generally top shelf, but the "show-down" on the field could well be epic...
So it's improved? I wasn't impressed with the buffet when Nightbeat was at Memorial stadium in Charlotte. It was always a mix of frozen finger food.

As promised, here are pics from yesterday's preview show.

I am very impressed with this show so far and can just imagine what they will do with it when they clean and add. Here's a few photos I snapped yesterday.

I'll be there. It's actually not as hot as they were initially expecting it to be which is fine by me.
-
Go back and watch some Troopers. Then come back and try that statement again.
Troopers shows are good and the Cadets lost me as a fan years ago. Just saying this is one of their strong points.
-
Nobody does Patriotic shows like the Cadets.
-
I've been watching the show over and over again on youtube and just like last year this show will grow on me and it has already.
Love the uniforms except for the hat but I wasn't a fan of it last year either. I love the trampolines. Looking forward to seeing those integrated into the show better.
I also look forward to the cleaning, the additions and seeing the show on a green field rather than dirt. Got my tickets to Nightbeat in Charlotte and I'll probably buy the full Fan Network subscription to see it throughout the season.
Go Crown. I am looking forward to going #OOTW with you.

Spirit's unis look great!!

What was really annoying about the musical presentations on the Disney show was the constant cheering added in the background for "effect" I suppose. I've heard some recordings taken live in the park and it wasn't totally from the audience.
That, plus it was a 2 hour commercial for all things Disney.
But--Crown did an excellent job and represented DCI like ... well, champs.
Disney owns ABC so I guess they can do what they want on the network. And actually, I've been considering a trip to WDW so I didn't mind the infomercial. .
I enjoyed Crown's performance. It was great exposure to drum corps even if someone referred to them as a marching band.

This is not the article I was looking for but it will do...
-
Why be cryptic? I'm guessing it's the college in Charlotte, NC that had it's inaugural College football season in 2013.
That's what I figured as well. UNC Charlotte announced in October they are starting a nationwide search for a marching band director to start preparing to field a band in 2015. I remember seeing the article but can't seem to find it.

Carolina Crown's is Carolina In My Mind. Not sure if they've ever played it, but they do sing it.
They have done it as part of their encores years ago but It's never been part of a show that I am aware of.

Nothing against BD. They are a wonderful corps and deserve the respect for what they do and as much as I'd love to see Crown repeat, my vote goes to SCV.
