I agree with you too especially if your marching the same patterns just diffrent shows!!!Wow, I disagree with you on so many things. BUT MAINLYCavaliers visual was NOT clean at all unless you are referring to the VIS GE. The difference from person to person was very apparent to me. I was shocked at the level of their marching.

No you should become a DCI judge!!!!So that's that! Take it for what it's worth, an old marching girl's mildly bitter (oxymoron?) take from home. I'd rather be marching.

There's alot of flaming on Crown's show concept, however no one is saying anything about BD. Am I the only one that didn't dig the Devils tonight?
Crown I can follow......BD was like a bad acid trip with guard design stuck in the early 90's.
well it is kinda noticable that their rep for 08 isn't all that original and as far as the devils are concerned I would probably say that you are in the minority tonight!!!!

So I think that the first time I saw BD live was 82 or 83. There have been many years of BD that I have liked. I love the Chick Corea years. In 85 many of the Fever kids marched with BD. I liked that show but over the years I have been a SCV fan. Second would be Phantom. I can not put my finger on what it is that turns me off from BD but it is something from the gut. My wife (not a drum corps fan hates BD and thinks they pay the judges off. No question in her mind, she hates BD. In fact she said that I can go to finals next time BD is not in contention for a ring.) Anyway, BD did not give me any Goosebumps tonight sorry.
hey leeb that's ok!!! we all have our favorites but tell your wife I don't think the blue Devils are paying anyone off. why is it so hard to believe that a fantastic organization with great kids has to do something so underhanded to have good things happen to them. 13 world championships , oh I'm sorry 12 championship titles is nothing to sneeze at and no one in the history of Drum Corps can match that. I use to be a big fan of SCV a long time ago but recently thay've become kinda avarage. I've followed the Blue Devils since I saw them win their first title in the 70's in philly.I'm not from Cali and I marched east coast so for me to be such a a big fan for a west coast corps is really saying something for them!!

Goosebumps x 5 for Crown. Need to watch show tomorrow a few times.
Total bumps 19. Not bad sitting in my house with my family playing Lineage 2 and David Scott playing Muse on Guitar Hero!!
No goosebumps for BD? Your taste is in your mouth and that is what happens when you move From Cali to Wash.

Ok you got me, I am from Modesto. Now I live in Seattle WA where we have no corps marching this year. Cascades 09! Life is good up here especially when it is 100+ in Sac Town it is 80 in Seattle.

Being a diehard Bluedevils fan I do hope everyone is right on here thinking that they will bring home #13 this year. With that being said I will wait till I hear the announcer say that on August 9th when I am sitting in the stands in Bloomington. To give it to them right now is over doing it, because we all know changes will be made by everyone and the real endings for most are not on the field yet, so to get caught up in all of the drama is absurd. I am just happy to see such a variety of shows and after last year I didn't think we could have another year where almost every show is enjoyable to watch.
Congratulations to all of the corps tonight and the kids who are performing these demanding shows. I cannot wait to see some of these shows live starting next weekend.\
And lastly GO BD!!!
AND YOU SAY YOUR A DIE HARD BLUE DEVILS FAN GIMME A BREAK OH YE WITH SUCH LITTLE FAITH!!!!

I dunno. I was mostly OK with the narrator, though I wish it were cut back a bit. It was the voice stuff in the middle that really annoyed me. Like Cadets, 'Coats seem to be using narration as a crutch to setup their show this year which is why I'm not a big fan; they probably would not have gotten the point of this year's show across without it. In contrast, last year their narrative supported the theme. It helped from a GE standpoint but if they cut it, you'd still "get" the show.
Ironic that they found themselves back to back with Cadets tonight.

I hate to go negative, but I gotta vent. I'm tired of BD winning with boring shows. The last two seasons have been a snoozefest. I applaud and admire their talent, but I don't understand how they win when execution is only part of the equation. Their GE scores for the past two years should have been in the bottom in my opinion. Winning all execution captions should put them around 3rd in that case.
I think the judges are in the tank and the fans are drinking the coolaid. Sorry - call me a basher, hater, idiot - whatever - flame away.
On a more positive note - congrats Crown! For me, they tie with Bluecoats (homer alert) for most entertaining show of the evening - followed closely by SCV, BAC and Cavies in that order.
Congrats to Blue Stars and Crossmen for making the evening show. Well done!

I am happy for Crown, couldn't be more thrilled in fact. PRs show is lucky to have scored where it did. Anyway the original post was regarding a BD victory come finals...

After reviewing the recaps, I would have to say that percussion judge #2 kept Madison out of finals. He had them 11th, while the other judge had them 4th. I believe that caption was what kept them out of finals.
well that 's a shame because Madison looked really good for this time of the season!!
