  1. Giants Stadium is an overpriced dump in the middle of a swamp, an area riddled with too many roads, too many people, too man ycars, accidents, trucks and traffic all hours of the day. There is NOTHING around the stadium but abandoned factories, outdated highwhays, smelly air and when you do finally get to some inhabited areas via route 3. the Turnpike, and toues 1 &9 and 46, you get people, wall to wall people , overcrowding, and again, did I mention traffic ??

Prices in the stadium are outragous $6 for a hot dog, $5 for a sad. THe acoustincs are terrible, and you can hear everyone, all around you, who whisper as if they are talking directly to you.

Nevermind the parking fee for using the lot.

    I agree

Plus the music sounds terrible bouncing of that cement stadium.

  2. Yes I marched there back in the 70's nice area. No drum corp there today. But mass is were it all started. Boston show we had people from the 1940 and up to present day.

And the show was not even promoted well in the Boston area.

Problem is Gillette personal were not to cooperative with DCI.

Maybe back to a former CYO National location.

    Boston College

Especially with their added seating capacity.

  3. Great Review.

I think this was the best Phantom show ever and one of the best drum corps shows ever and definitely deserved to win.

Side Note: It's kind of interesting how BD fell in drums from 3rd (quarter & semi-finals) to 5th in Finals  giving that score by drum judge J.J. Pipitone who marched in Phantom.

Everything that is wrong with the judging system.

    Almost impossible to be objective...

    However, Love Regiment-Congratulations!

  4. I spoke with someone today who was with Boston this summer and I asked what Corps the 113 new members came from this year. I was told that most of them were new to drum corps this year. That blows my mind. How can you make it into the top 12 in a tough competitive year with so many new to drum corps members? Another chapter written for the Boston Crusaders and yes they will never die! I was also told that the members are pumped up for 2009!

As a side note I was told that many X Boston members marched with the Cadets this year. They followed the old Director to the Cadets and then he left the Cadets (just what I was told).

Boston back in top 5 next year

  5. There has been a standing ovation of this magnitude in the middle of a show and I'm shocked that Vic doesn't remember it:

Bluecoats 1987 after the first time they performed Autumn Leaves in a DCI Finals (their first appearance ever) there was a 33 second standing ovation (Jay Wise timed it). This was the first time the 'Coats came out with the 20 man snare line at finals and the beefy soprano sextet.

Jay used to brag about how there had never been a standing ovation like that.....someone will have to time PR's standing O to see who holds the crown!

    Great post.

Why not start it as a seperate topic?

    Prediction-

Shows like Madison 75 and 76 will rank high in this contest.

  6. Sorry if what I post isnt what you would like to hear. again, my view was way better than yours. I was able to look down, left to right, at the entire crowd, and that is actually one of the things I like to do so therefore, thats what I was doing at the time in question. Too bad if you dont like it, its irrelevant wether my observation is in the minority or not or if you choose to like me or not because of it. Fact is, BAC didnt receive a standing ovation thirty - to - thirty five seconds before the end, ten to fifteen ? Sure, and not everyone right down in front stood, it was a rousing good time, and worthy of praise, and the ovation it got, but please lets not get carried away.

    Geoffrey

How do you know your view was better?

I agree ,"it was a rousing good time"

And remember keep up the great posts

  7. Absolutely not and everyone didnt stand at the end either.

    Geoffrey

    What?

    You like to create controversy?

Last time you said their standing ovation wasn't 30 seconds.

Now you are saying everyone didn't stand.

Your observation is in the minority.

I hate when you have posts like this.

You have so many other posts that add alot to these forums.

Stick with the 90% plus of your posts that are credible and enjoyable.

    Thanks
