  1. haha.... I 'm not " worried " about your comments on this thread . Up until now I've never even responded to you on this thread. My comments here were directed to Craiga. Frankly, I don't care what you think. You THINK you know, but frankly you don't know a thing on this topic compared to Craiga.( and with others I know )

Well thats fine, think what you want. not all that important...lol

  2. Craiga...If I left a company 20 years ago on good terms, and found out the company had new ownership, new staff, etc.... and then spoke to a person on the current staff that is there NOW, and speaks frequently with the new owners..... I would not pretend to know what plans the company has, over that of a current staff member who just TOLD me what the plans were.

Scoutnout commented on something he doesn't have a clue on... to someone that does.

Did I summarize this about right... or not ?

I have PMed Craig on this. No need for you to worry although I wonder how you think you know what I know or what my connections are still. Clearly youre the one with no clue

  3. Hey Thanks For Sponsoring a Member! but I think Craiga's info on the G7 is more based in Facts then your Opinion. You might think they would be interested, But from what I hear around, No They arent. And for that I am glad.

Well believe it or not Im glad if they didnt do the G7 thing and stood strong to their beliefs IF in fact that is true. I just would question if that was 100% true. If it is.....good for them !

  4. Yes I loved being with Boston when I was there BUT that doesnt mean I have to support or agree with alot of the practices they choose to do right now. I DO NOT take every oppurtunity to bash the corps and believe me I could . Everyone who has seen your posts know also that you are extremely loyal to Boston and thats great and admirable but I also can be objective as a past Crusader which Im sure you can not but thats cool. Corps need that loyality. I personally will give my support and YES even to Boston BUT wont ignore what I know to be true either.

OH and one more thing Mr. Crusader. I sponsored a kid THIS YEAR for a thousand bucks...and u?

I think to shell out that kind of money to a kid who wants to be there kinda along with the fact that I spent some years there gives me the right to disagree.

  5. LOL......you haven't been involved with Boston in nearly 20 years, and you couldn't be more wrong. I can tell you with certainty my friend, that BAC has no interest in being part of a travelling roadshow of circus performers known as the G7. You claim to be a past staff person and supporter of this corps, yet you take every opportunity to be critical of it.

I am not even convinced that you ever were part of Boston. But, if you had been, you certainly didn't grow much of an appreciation for the history and continued survival of the corps. What a pity. I've read you other posts in other threads about people in Boston would "sell their soul" to win. Really? The Boston Crusaders?

    Priceless.

  6. You are totally right a "good " judge should be prepared but it does happen. The initial emotion isn't always correct . But 1 thing. trust me judges DO look at other shows or the night before ive actually seen textes sent from another show..... I know I know ...lol

I should say thats probably more of a DCI and WGI thing moreso than DCA

  7. Absolutely, but I guess my point is a judge should know better than to give someone a 9.6 when you still have the top 4 lines from prelims still yet to perform. Easy for me to say having never been a judge. And I know most judges "don't look" at the sheets from the night before, but still. Don't give someone a 9.3 if there are still 7 corps left to perform.

  8. What a joke this guy is. Your first point is absolutely incorrect and ignorant.

Your whole first "point" (and I put it in quotations because you never really had a point) has to do with judging. Albeit judging is certainly NOT rigged, I think fans and members of other corps have more than enough reason to complain about someone receiving a perfect score when, like you said, they clearly ticked the night they received it.

If the judges were judging smartly, they would not have boxed themselves in by giving Hurcs and MBI a 9.8 and 9.9 respectively before Buccs even touched the finals field knowing full-well that Reading was the better percussion section in prelims. That's just not smart judging. They boxed themselves in and because of it, had to give an inaccurate number.

If your "point" was anywhere near correct then the descriptions on the back of the sheets would say "in comparison to the other corps in competition" after every sentence. But they don't. A perfect score isn't relative to your competition, it's relative to being perfect!

I don't think it takes marching DCI to figure that one out...

You are right about judging boxing a corps in . It happens alot because of an overreaction to a corps early on. but a judge can also have a TOTE sheet so they can look at comparisions of other corps and what they may have given them and where the next fits in ( comparing )

  9. I don't really care what people think either way. I know some like it, and I know some hate, especially after the G7 stuff came out.

I don't go around defending DCP to the drum corps world. I recognize it's plusse and minuses, and have commented on them. Trust me, and Mike New and John D can tell you...at times there has been no more vocal critic of this place and how it's been run ( a lot less since John took over mind you) than me.

But most of your posts DO knock DCP, yet you always try to CYA by throwing in a quick little compliment to it.

so which is it...you like it or you don't? You're so quick to point out how people "laugh at DCP"...yet you're here. if it's so bad...why?

my suggestion is this...DCP is what you make of it. The less time you try to figure out what's good and bad, and the more time you make it what you want it to be for yourself, the better.

Because for every person you claim knocks it, I can claim just as many like it. it is what it is. Just like any chat forum out there, it has plusses and minuses. so make it what you want it to be, and don;t give a flying #### what others think. if you enjoy it, post here and have fun. if you think it's a waste, then stop. it's that simple...and IMO, you spending more time saying it's a waste in others eyes than you say anything else.

    Youre right !!!!!

  10. I do. I saw everyone in both circuits last year ( in the upper classes) live, as well as all of Class A in DCA. While at times I think Empire may go too far with the "extras", they usually end up working out and making the show come alive. whereas with BD and the chairs, while I didn';t hate them, after a while it was like "ok, yeah you posed on chairs, you stepped over chairs, you drummed on chairs. oh wait now you moved the chairs and did it again".

and obviously worked for them

  11. here we go...I haven't done this bold in years

    International Champion: Kidsgrove or Grennies.

I knew it !!!!!! I was just about to post DON'T YOU DARE SAY IT....LMAO

That alone should ban you for at least a week....

  12. if you feel that way. I was just pointing out what people say.

DCP has good and bad, I'll not deny that. But to dismiss it outright is just as stupid as to believe it sums up the entire activity.

and for those I know involved in whatever capacity in DCI and DCA, and i know more than a few, they make fun of the idiots on all sides of the spectrum. But let me ask you this since you seem to think DCP is such a joke:

    1) why are you here?

and 2) why would DCI be sending Jacobs in here to help DCI's image ( and he has to some extent) if DCP was such a joke?

Did I say DCP was a joke? I actually said its a shame because there is some revalance here. I said unfortunately it attracts some of the people who cant be budged and extremeists.

  13. My opinion....."yes" to pretty much all of the above. As far as the theme goes, I think their props/special effects over the years... for the most part.... have enhanced their themes quite well.

Other corps have "completed their themes" quite well without the use of props, no question.... but props and so forth are most definitely ... to borrow a phrase... Statesmen Style.

I have said before that at various times over the years, the Statesmen's shows have struck me as more like entertainment events, and not just drum corps shows. And I mean that as a compliment.

    Again, just my opinion.

HMMMM interesting but if a JR. corps does this " Its NOT DRUM CORPS " preached by many

  14. time is money for 1 and corps prepare to go on a certain time. when a corps shows up late it is not fair to say to the next corps HURRY UP YOURE ON NEXT. or the show runs later because someone was late. Do things happen YES ....BE PREPARED... to be early is to be on time.. was taught that a long time agao. Also these rules were put in place because its also easy to be late to go on in a better time slot... who controls that? RULES!!!!!!
