Lots of people have high expectations for Phantom. I haven't seen their show in a while, so I'm curious to see this raw emotion that seems to be coming through right now.
If this gains them momentum in placements, I can seem them medaling, but with other competition being what it is, I think it might be bronze at best.
Disclaimer: my bias towards Cadets and the realism of trying to beat BD is coming out in this post.

1. The Cadets - I'm calling it now: perfect 40 in GE! (Bold Prediction of 2011)
2. Blue Devils - Perfect 30 in Visual! (They scored 29.95 past 2 years, can definitely happen)
(When you look up "clean" in the dictionary, there's a picture of the Blue Devils.)
3. The Cavaliers - Won't be near BD or Cadets IMO
4. Carolina Crown - Don't be surprised if you see Crown in third...
5. Phantom Regiment - ...or fifth, Phantom really turned up the intensity this week

(They could all be within a point of each other)

You know what? that might be what wins it for them, too. Cadets' performance captions are not exactly in position right now to have it "in the bag"... but that might do it.

For two years straight Tekk (aka 2000Cadet) has owed me push-ups at Indy!!!! I waited by the BD souvee booth as planned.... but no Tekk!!! Now I implore you....should I have to do push-ups if the Cadets prevail (by some freak possiblity

2007 felt like it too, but BD won more. There was a fair amount of flip-flop, however.

i was wondering the same. placements seemed odd, but i don't think it was to put cadets up front. how could he know how it would all shake out with the combined other scores?
I used to think it was all a conspiracy when I marched because certain things just didn't make sense to me, but I've given up on that since then.

Almost all of the corps are scoring LOWER this year than last...including BD tonight. And I would anticipate that there will be at least 3 corps breaking 98 at finals.

94.8 seems like a really high score for two weeks left in the season. Will we be seeing three corps in the 98 range come finals? Maybe even TWO in the 99 range?
I used to think the sky was the limit, but someone is raising the roof!

i think a lot of groups have already tweaked the rest of the show to make it work, from their original designs. now, using that info, they tweak the rest with the understanding that the audience (and judges) are most affected by what they see last.
does it work?

It's going to be a horserace photo finish for sure..........my money is on Cadets by a very slim margin.....top 4 may all finish within a point........I think it will be between BD and Crown for 2nd, and Cavies a close 4th.
I will also be very surprised if the same order of finish happens at quarters/semis/finals........I don't see anyone pulling away from
anyone with these corps........all are strong......should be a great championship!!

Really, why is this newsworthy? Cadets were already tops in GE. Perf. scores are now catching up. They are the ones to beat from here on in.

This is a 4 corps horse race, and it could be a 4 corps "photo finish" at the end.......any of them could pop the job to win it,
and any of them could end up 4th. Some people want "predictable".....not me. I think a healthy "war" for the title
is long overdue, and great for both the corps and fans. Who knows, maybe sometime in the near future we will see a 5 or 6 corps "war" for all of the marbles.
Doubtful, but one can hope........

With Cadets winning GE, it's just a matter of time before their execution scores rise. They have the show to beat, hands down. And... I think Cavaliers have the only contender, not BD or Crown. Just the way I see it.
In past years, Cadets have been known for the "August Push" and I think it's happening. I think from here, the lead will fluctuate, but it will remain a lead and grow from here to finals.
