I would suggest some type of Online access for Subscribers similar to Twitch. Subscribers would get charged for behind the scenes and other access.

I agree that the current shows are pretty boring compared to the shows before 2000. My favorite years were 1979-1980. So many shows then with entertaining music and drills. I'm afraid that shipped has sailed though.
The audience reaction has gone down as well. Too bad the younger fans didn't experience the great crowds from back then.

It shouldn't be a surprise to find that people who do these types of shootings are taking drugs for their issues. The drugs aren't causing the issues, they're taking the drugs because of their issues. It can take time to find the correct drug or even the proper dosage of the correct drug. And, for more serious issues, a long time in therapy.

I wish the horns would play and march at the same time more. Too much standing and playing.

I too was a fan of BD in the 70's and 80s. Not that big of a fan for the last 20 years. While they are always excellent technically, I feel their shows lack on the emotional side as compared to other corps. In 2014 they obviously had a record score but the popular show that year by a wide margin was Tilt. That's why BD will usually get golf claps from me.

Easily, 1988 was the worst decision. Madison was 4.6 points behind on July 31.

Coming up on the 25th Anniversary of the 27th Lancers Alumni Corps performance at 1994 DCI Finals.
Anyone who witnessed it will never forget it.

I have one $39 ticket available for face value. It's in Section 4 Row O seat 17 .

Enough with the brass runs! I think the arrangers are having them do the runs just to show off and aren't really needed in the songs. It was interesting at first but nearly all the corps do them now.

I have not seen anything here about Gillette. Home of the cheatin (but multi Super Bowl Champion) Patriots. All that aside, the Crusaders put on one heck of an anniversary show last year and Gillette was an awesome stadium for it IMO. Not only is the stadium excellent with seating & sound, but the overall facility with restaurants, shops and entertainment on site, makes for a great & fun drum corps day. And they having their show there again this year. I can't wait. A bit of a step up from Lawrence. Hope it stays successful and they can keep it there.
I disagree about Gillette. The tickets and concessions were too expensive. Also, it took too long to get out of the parking lots.

The spelling of the word ten and the counting to ten are just cringeworthy juvenile set pieces in an otherwise mature (if not staid) interpretation of this work. If you must stoop to spelling ten on the field, at least spell it in Russian, десять.
I took a crap this morning. This represents my struggle to keep my head above water in this thing we call life. Sometimes it's a silent struggle but sometimes, like an astronaut, I let out a rousing cheer as I reach splashdown. As all my hard work gets flushed, I know the struggle is never over.
I'm having beans tonight.

Well, BD has taken park and blow to a new level this year, even for them. Hey, it scores well so why not? They sound great as always.

I agree with the ok drill part. There drill is way too easy for a top corps. They sound great though and I like the music a lot more than their recent years.

You can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out the judge's scores.
Bluecoats have THE show of 2014 and the crowd lets them know every competition.
I can't wait to hear the ovation they get at Indy.

The members are far more talented today and perform vastly more difficult shows but I look to be entertained. In general, are the shows of recent years as entertaining for the majority of the audience as the shows of the late 70's - late 80's? Not even close.
2014 DCI will be remembered for the Bluecoats show, not for who medaled. -
As you check out the scores that year, how they did during the Scouts Europe trip, how they did against the Scouts once they returned, and how PR ended up, it must have hurt.
How about the Blue Devils? On 7/30 they beat Madison by 4.6 points!
I was never more surprised by the winner of Finals then by Madison winning that year.

Did Crown peak too early?

I was wondering how the Blue Devils members feel about the lack of rousing ovations for their shows of recent years.
Do they care? Does it bother them? I would think it would be human nature to want appreciation for your hard work.
Just curious. So if recent members or people that know recent members can respond please.

As I was sitting in Indy last year, watching guard after guard toss and catch, I was thinking that guard is less interesting for me now. If you've seen something often enough, it loses its effect. The guards are so good that I'm shocked if there's a drop. Do you think guards need to change to a different artistic direction?

Just wondering if anyone's sat in the Lucas Oil stadium's upper levels and how good/bad of a seat it was.

Hi, still looking for 3 for Thursday night.

But who is rewarded more? A corps that tries something harder but isn't as clean or a corps that does something easier but is cleaner.
