[Phantom Regiment 2011]

I hope more corps announce their show, it gets me that much more excited for next season. AND Phantom is coming out west, so that means I'll be able to see them early in the season too! :]:]

[Troopers 2011]

well they got David Reeves doing brass and percussion arranging this year after 3(?) years of Dead writting the brass book. I loved his percussion book he wrote this last summer, and can't wait to see what he'll bring for them this year, and what he'll do for the brass.

[Lower level corps need horn players too]

I can only think of one (out of maybe 10ish) that tried out for a corps, got cut, and didn't march with someone atleast. A lot of them were told from the corps that they were cut from which corps they knew would have some open spots, and they always (except the one exception) ended up marching there for one or two years. I knew one of them that loved that "lower" corps so much he stayed there for a few years!

I think that the kids that get cut, and don't end up going anywhere else, are really trying out because they like the idea of marching in drum corps. Not because they love drum corps.

[2011 World Class Repertoires]

I thought "Our Town" was one of the best parts of the Troopers show this year. I'm glad to see they are gonna try some more Copland!!

[Boston Crusaders Announce 2011 Program]

It's the first corps that I've seen an official announcement for. I'm very excited for this idea. I absolutely loved their show this year, and thought they had some incredible moments (one of my favorite of any corps this year), and I'm thinking with the music of Les Mis as the foundation, they will create some spectacular moments (as long as that breath of fresh air doesn't go too crazy).

[Judging the "Tour Of Champions" Shows?]

I'm already planning one trip (maybe two) to one of the TOC events. I'm interested to see what it's all about. How it's judged won't matter change on if I go (this first time), but it might in the future. Regardless, I'm excited to see what will all happen. I kinda like the idea of texting to see who the fan favorite, not sure if I'd want that to be part of the overall score though.

[Rivalries in DCI.]

when I marched, I never felt any animosity with other corps. I think it's mostly because now kids travel to all parts to march, as opposed to just going to the closest one. So, I had/have friends in almost every world class corps competing against me. You want them all to put on a good show and do well. The only “rivalries” I ever felt was with the corps just above us and just below us, but that would change every year I would imagine, and was never based on what corps it was, rather just which corps was in our range. Nothing personal, only business.

[Angels in the Architecture]

I love the possibilities that the "Angels" has for a Cadets show, and I love that I'll get to see it out here in the West. Double win.
