408 users hanging for the scores and your comments. Great job again, Kevin and his team.

You'd think I'd be able to score a DVD set with the Director of Media up here in the press box with me. :D
It's worth a shot!

So, does anyone see any flip-flopping in the placings tonight?
-
It is so nice to see the diversity between the styles in all the groups at DCA. Gold is SOOOO different from Govies.
DCI could take a lesson form DCA in that regard.

Reading Buccaneers - 98.5
Minnesota Brass - 95.8
Hawthorne Caballeros - 94.83
I didn't catch Hurcs or Cadets2 yet.
That's a big spread! Do you who were there think it was justified? Seems a bit much.

Good to hear from you, Jerry! I hope all is well!
When I visited Chicago in July, I saw some of the old crew from our Imperial days. No one has changed...we're just all looking more and more like our parents .
(Sorry, public broadcast. Not an IM. Go drum corps!)
Things are going well, Jim. I'm sorry I missed the get together of Imperials. Haven't seen many of them in ages. I did see the pics and yes...everyone is starting to look like their parents, or in my case, our grandparents. LOL Was glad to hear your mom and dad are still with us and doing well. Hope all is going fantastic for you in China. Take care, my friend.

The whole thread read really smoothly. Looking forward to tomorrow morning's cast of finals. Great job, guys!
You guys know you did something right when Smoothy thinks the thread is smooth...
Hello to my old friend Jim in China from Jerry.
Bravo, Kevin, Key and all the crew!

Has the rain stopped?

Alabama is leading 31-0 in the 2nd. LOL

Seeing the spread I'm not completely surprised. Just the Renegades score and Statesmen scores really surprise me. ESPECIALLY statesmen's
Seems that the crowd appreciated Kidsgrove more than the judges?

Any thoughts on those scores?
-
I'm enjoying the commentary from you guys! Anyone willing to go out on a limb and guess the placements so far?
-
Thanks, Guys! All of your insights are truly appreciated. When we have the thoughts of experienced people who understand show construction, it makes following these threads so much more enjoyable and informative! Bravo, Gentlemen!

Wow! That is a lot of sound from a horn line that size!
Loving the Godfather Theme. Trumpets are screaming it!
How many horns, drums, guard, etc.?
Clean? Dirty? A little more info please.

there needs to be a rule that all DCA corps need to run at least one show for DCA member corps....if there isn't one already. They need to find a way to strengthen all regions and promote the founding of new corps and shows.
-
Yep, have to agree that ND sucks. They are in for a long season.......
However......I think a more accurate analogy would be in DCI and how everyone cheers when BD loses. They are great and deserve what they get, but people like the championship to move around a bit.
-
It would be interesting to see if in fact anything of merit happens, but I doubt it will. It is more than reasonable to assume that most of the DCA member corps and their followers will be immersed with travel arrangements, details and housing in a new city for the 2012 championships and that will be where the focus will be aimed in the coming months.
-
"I only hope that Minnesota will make it to enough DCA shows to give a good defense to their well earned title - I've always worried (being a dinosaur) what would DCA be like with a Champion hundreds and hundreds of miles from (for instance) New Jersey."
I'm pretty sure the freeway travels east AND west. Come on over!
It would be nice to see some eastern corps make the trip to the midwest. That could create more interest in the midwest to form a few new all-age corps and some more shows for the corps to compete in. Anything to counter how the activity has been shrinking because of DCI's touring model. DCA is the wave of the future for real corps.

Congratulations Minnesota Brass! It's been a long time coming. Looks like DCA is a horse race once again. This just makes things all the much more interesting for Annapolis next year. It's good to have tighter and more intense competition. DCA will only get better because of it. Also congrats to Kilties for finally getting off the snide and making finals and to Mike Phillips, nice job with Tampa Bay! Great job for a first year corps.

That prop engine Cleveland Indians' plane from "Major League" is available.......
Make sure they duct tape the prop....ROFL

A big shout out to all the corps for having a great season!
I 'm looking forward to the drive to Annapolis next year.
