Yes, it is judges bias. They are out to get BAC. It has nothing to do with the performances on the nor the honest opinions of the judging panels. /sarcasm :)
i knew it!

SCV 89 could win today, I think
-
DCI hosted prelims from it's inception until they changed to the Quarterfinals format in the late 80's. In fact, the previous year's top 12 weren't even required to compete in the prelims round at all until they added the third day for everyone.
oh, my bad. Learn somethin new every day

BK's visual package is lacking this year, they've never had the toughest drill. Though the last minute or so of their show this year REALLY cooks. It's too bad, I think they're kind of getting hosed too, their hornline is god #### great

Prelims? When did this become a band competition, I thought it was called Quarterfinals. Seemed to work just fine for the past 40+ years

Come talk about drum corps, then we'll talk some more about it tomorrow
-
Have they peaked? Is it judge bias? I just don't understand how they could ALMOST be beating SCV a week or so ago, and were well ahead BK, with a much harder show and better execution, but now all of a sudden SCV is 2 points ahead and BK is beating. What's going on???

I'm glad to see so many people sharing my sentiments

Drum corps shouldn't be fun, it's hardcore, intense and fiery. Visceral. Any time I see drum corps on the field dancing and hooping and hollering it makes me sick to my stomach (that includes my own corps, before anyone feels like calling me out. BAC 02 with the dancing and crying, that #### needs to be banned from the activity.)

Anyone remember all the crap Phantom Regiment got in '03 for all that body movement?
Less than a decade later and we see way more than that in almost every show.
Phantom may have gotten more crap for the mere fact that they didn't really move much or effectively in 2003
Change is good I see nothing wrong with the way drum corp is going. Times have changed get with it.
I am *with it*, trust me. I'm a fairly liberal guy when it comes to music, artistry, etc, but it's painfully obvious that drum corps has changed A LOT just since the time that I marched, and that wasn't even that long ago!! That's my actual point. I got off the bus and it zipped on really fast.

Drum corps have staff to take care of this. It's like blaming the federal government if you can't find a hotel when you're on vacation

I'm shocked by this. Back in 2004 when Crown was singing Rent songs in their ballad, people were FURIOUS, as they should have been. What happened to you DCP? When did you get soft?

Of course the Cadets are connecting with the audience, they are in the EAST. Bring them out west and BD and Cadets would get a totally different reaction.
I don't understand how that is relevant. Elaborate?

It's painfully obvious how cheesy Crown is this year. I don't get all the rationalizations. Do drum corps fans actually sit down, listen to a corps playing "Bohemian Rhapsody" and think, "Yeah, this is good!" If so, how much ketchup do you put on your hot dogs, a gallon? And do you wear a beanie?
