  1. unfortunate circumstances. The truth will come out . . . one day.

It's part David, Chip and Freddy teach in the Atlanta area still and part students at:

Just about every school in Cobb County

Pretty much every school in Forsyth County

Half of the schools in Gwinnett County

And about 15-20 schools in the Metro Atlanta area with BOA quality bands

There are few other places in the country with the amount of willing students, middle-upper middle class families with disposable income, and amount of quality instructors. Marching band is big time in the Atlanta area . . .

Shout out for my county of Forsyth! Haha

  2. Does anyone know if you can listen to the brass tape from Crown's Finals run this year? I'd LOVE to hear what that judge had to say...

It was up for a day before they took it down. Someone from the brass line leaked it (or something to that effect). The brass line wants to keep it to the brass line.

  3. Think "Limits" and it all makes sense. The science is limited - speed of light, etc. - the love isn't limited (as is said in the ballad and closing). The love is how he can use the black hole at the end etc.

Thats a rough cut of it. But the idea isn't to think "Science" its to think "Limits" and E=MC^2 is the equation that perplexes scientists in that Light can't be surpassed - we don't think.... Theories.

Well about to head out to a Finals Party! (I'm late lol)

  4. How did Crown percussion get 4th? They were 6th yesterday.

Different read. The percussion could be inconsistent show to show, the judge could have been in a different spot during portions of the show. Maybe he got more of a read on the front ensemble than the guy last night. Maybe all of that. I don't think it's too farfetched.

Actually they were 7th, but I don't know. Nothing I've seen from them this year says top 5 drumline to me.

This judge actually watched the other percussionists in the front ensemble a little of the time instead of staying with the battery throughout the show. Or so I've been told, I wasn't at semis.

  5. If he was out there he was deaf and blind because that drumline (who got 7th last night) is not all of a sudden .2 behind SCV! And all of a sudden their brass is .5 above everyone? Come on! If I was in critique tonight and I was in Cadets, BD, or SCV I would be throwing punches.

Your opinion doesn't answer my legitimate question :doh:/>

  7. If doing what the pros do was necessary or sufficient to create good drum corps, no one would be marching.

    He is talking about microphones.

The Blue Devils never do only "necessary or sufficient". Fifteen world championships were won by exceeding the standard, not meeting it. The same goes for the other top-level corps.

He makes a remark that BD never ONLY do the "necessary or sufficient," but they "exceed the standard." Implying that microphones exceed it.

So you are saying that the secret to BD winning 15 times is because they use microphones?

Then we have my post pointing out that implication.

  8. Jolesch is still around and is operating as Jolesch Enterprises. You can find them at joleschenterprises.com and will also see that Jolesch is the official photographer for both DCI and Music For All/Bands of America. They're still doing band photo days and other events around the country.

I photography company has a website that is that ugly?

  9. Thanks for your input. I've had issues with those hosting services before as the free accounts are limited. I think the grainy-ness you're talking about is the large version of each corps logo in the background. Some of the logos I culled from each corps was very small so expanding them made them pixelated. I distorted them for "artistic" reasons.

Sorry I couldn't satisfy you with the color combos.

The graininess is in your "artistic" distortion - what I referred to as pinstripes.

Color combos has nothing to do with personal taste (well, it has a part), but from purely a design stand point.

I appreciate the two red ticks for voicing an opinion that I clarified was an opinion, and then even thanked the OP for making the banners in the first place... :doh:/> I'm expecting more on this post as well... meh I guess that's what art classes get me...

  10. This is more likely. Logically it should be just two, I would think, since these accelerators smash two particles from opposite directions (as I understand the process). Still, that may be what they are getting at.

Actually, if I remember correctly, initially the send two, but if a particular unstable isotope is created, they might send more to create that isotope and collide another particle in as well. Sort if a building effect on the short time span.

Of course I could be just blowing smoke....if so, woops :w00t:/>
